His boxing was never good to begin with and now it might even be worse due to the added muscle he's added. I've added muscles and when doing so I felt I wasnt as fast as when I had less muscles. You are not as fluid as with less muscles.

He might have some issues with cardio. Or maybe he will just be stronger snd smash people at 205. We will find out soon.

But he still has to make 205. So he's going to be exchanging fat for muscle. He isnt just bulking up when he has to cut weight still. If he was at HW then maybe. But more muscle and less fat. I think he will be fine.

Sprinters are more muscular than long distance runners. Fast twitch muscle fiber. I believe the opposite. I think he will be faster and more explosive.

More muscle = more explosiveness

I'm not worried about his gas tank. His body has to get conditioned to be working with less oxygen per breath.

I dont know. I dont think he will be as fluid as without the added muscle and less fat. I think he might be more stiff. Thats how I feel when I add more muscle.

I guess it all depends on the type of training Jones is doing but all I have seen on him is him doing powerlifting lifts and that will not make him faster but make him slower.

Lol you kinda stepped on your own toes there. Yes, sprinters are more muscular, more explosive and faster over a short period. Tell them to race a 10 k runner and see what happens.

See what happened with conor and all his nice muscles?

Jones may be explosive for the first round or so, but i have a feeling if cormier survives it, he will win the later rounds, maybe even finish him.

He wants that 500 pound bench press.

More important than being champion.

Jones has added strength, not more muscle mass. He is at 225 right now - same as always - and will be at 205 for weigh in, same as always.

Plus, he is training full time for the first time with Jackson at altitude in the NM Rockies - he will be well conditioned.

Meanwhile cormier is eating cake at sea level with Cain

It's hard to say man, he is so athletic that I doubt it will affect his speed that much. But even so, with his reach he can get away with being slightly slower.

The only place I could see the extra muscle mass being an issue is late round cardio.

I played college football and every year I off season lifted and I was strongest, fastest, quickest, best vertical, and heaviest senior year. I added 30 pounds of muscle and reduced my body fat by 4% between freshman and senior year. I left 5'9 227

Your telling me things I already know. I am aware he has subtituted muscles for fat and will be 205 come weigh ins. This will also be the first time he will carry all that muscles so he might be as comfortable fighting with it like he was without. Cardio might as be an issue like Apocalypse state.

And Cormier is a beast and hard worker, just cause he looks a bit pudgy does not mean he does not work hard. He just likes his Cakes and KFC alot.

Boxing and football are different sports bra.

I've put a 100 against him and thinking about putting a little more .just because the extra muscle possible lack of drugs and time off

Man, you should write a thread to let all of Shedog know! Imagine what they'd think at this new, previously unthought idea!

Has he really even added a bunch of muscle? He looks the same to me maybe a little bigger. All these pictures he post are probably right after working out or maybe even during a workout and that's why he looks bigger.
