I am an ex-Scientologist. (LONG read)

Thanks for the new links. It's all so fucking laughable. Unfortunately the CoS is like cancer and that's nothing to laugh about.

If this shit wasn't for real, it would be a very bad fiction.

wow, that was an interesting read, I have tried to understand it before asking this question, why couldnt you just leave? if you were blacklisted would you essentially be an orphan?

Yep.

Also, enjoy some tasty propaganda.

oh damn; More celebrity Scientologists from wiki;

Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, John Travolta, Van Morrison (dedicated a CD to Hubbard) , Jerry Seinfield, Patrick Swayze, Erika Christensen, Jeff Conaway, Isaac Hayes, Lisa Marie Presley,Kelly Preston and Greta Van Susteren.

I have to say I knew next to nothing about CoS but this thread really made me aware. I remember when Anonymous started the attacks on the website etc and but I never realized it went this deep.

Very interesting.

Here are some other things I've heard about Scientology that perhaps you could confirm or deny:
1) There are no old people. They basically kick you to the curb at 60.
2) David Miscavige is a douchebag who physically beats Scientologists who question him or the Church.
3) The reason Scientology is tax-exempt is because they made a deal with the government that they would make all their members file their taxes. As a result, they ask you if you've filed your taxes before you can advance.
4) They claim that Scientology will save the world.
5) The goal is to get everybody on the planet to become a Scientologist.
6) You can spend decades as a Scientologist, as well as thousands of dollars, and never even hear the word Xenu.

And I have a question. Guys like Tom Cruise and John Travolta weren't exposed to all the crap you were, right? Is there a sort of "special rules" branch of Scientology specifically for celebrities?

1. They don't kick you out for being old.

2. David Miscavige eats dolphins while they are still alive. The special kind that talk to blind kids.

3. I hadn't heard that one before. I thought Co$ just stalked the IRS until they gave in.

4. Oh yes.

5. Yep.

6. Yar.

7. Correct. They only deal with the "president's office". Free bj's or something I think. Tommy Davis used to work in there. Sounds like blowjobs to me.

=)

Good talk.

Another cause of the Anonymous movement. And certainly an important one, worth all of our support.
