I sincerely doubt that. Aspinall has shown himself to be way better than Volkov or Gane, and he's currently in his prime. He's also basically undefeated in the UFC, with all finishes. He's got way more finishing ability than Gane and is also bigger, and has a good ground game. He demolished Volkov in round 1.

I think the people who would try to downplay a Jones win vs Aspinall is a very small minority.

But we see this narrative with other fighters as well, Khamzat for example. Some people won't give credit no matter what.
