Hunt is a strong dude. Hunt's comments about how impossibly huge and strong Brock is just make me appreciate Randy outwrestling Brock so much more. Randy was a bad man.

I haven't been a Randy fan for a long time. Don't really like the guy or his fighting style...but he was a machine. Guy would fight anyone and he did reasonably well against Brock.

Randy getting ko by a guy with no striking kind of evens it out though

Randy was taken down twice by Brock, took Brock down 0 times, but he outwrestled Brock?

lol wtf?

I don't think Brock got out wrestled, in fact I don't think Randy even took him down.

Randy got back up and actually controlled the clinch. Randy I thought out wrestled him on feet, held brock against the cage.

Randy was one of the first fighters I really liked. When I first starting watching MMA the soul-crushing effectiveness of wall and stall and lay and pray types of grappling really changed how I viewed fighting. I was so happy when he beat Chuck, because I'd seen KO artists and heavy handed hitters before, but I'd never seen anything like what Randy did in boxing or in movies.

Now I just boo anytime a grappler scores a takedown and start chanting "stand them up" roughly fifteen seconds after the fight hits the ground.

Randy had a ton of interesting wrestling exchanges in the UFC. Randy's Greco and his accomplishments vs Brock (NCAA Champ), Kevin Randleman (NCAA 2x champ), and Mike Van Arsdale (NCAA champ and 2 time Olympic alternate.) Very interesting stuff. Especially the latter 2 in the earlier UFC's when it was really cool to see style vs style.

undestandable given that randy was LHW and Brock was Super HW....

I can see where you are coming from, but Randy did manage to control Brock pretty well until the size and strength difference became too much.

Randy was the man everyone wanted to see fight Fedor

The man who 1 fight after brock had a war with big nog

The man who snapped Tim Sylvia's 6 fight (3 championship) win streak which included 2 wins over Arlovski

And he stopped the beast that was gonzaga right after gonzaga ruined Crocop's career

Randy was better at heavyweight than he was at light-heavyweight because he handled strength better than speed

One of the worst sins sherdog ever committed was trying to discredit heavyweight Randy Couture just because they wanted to discredit Brock Lesnar

Ps: "outwrestled" is a huge stretch. One guy got two big takedowns and the other got one sort of takedown and never fully got on top
More accurate to say he neutralized Lesnar's wrestling

But still great fight. Randy Couture is legitly one of the best heavyweights of all time
(He even was beating prime and roided barnett before the stoppage). It's a horrible shame people feel the need to discredit him

Lol randy didn't out wrestle brock. He did perform reasonably well against him considering the size and age difference though.

To say he out wrestled him though is to ignore what actually happened.

Randy did well.

He got outwrestled however. So the opposite of what you said.

I was a Randy fan. I just found myself liking him less and less over the years. I was cheering for him against Chuck and Timmeh. But he grew more wall-n-stally over the years. By the time he put on that debacle against Brandon Vera, I was cheering against him for the most part. Add to that his crappy acting and his holdout as the champ, and I just had less reasons to like him and more to dislike him.

When he was doing interviews during his holdout, even he was admitting that he didn't care about how it might help any of the other fighters with their bargaining power. So in the end, he was a guy that simply wanted to breach his contract.

randy did way better against a pre-diverticulitis Brock who had a sixty pound advantage than most people remember

randy should be the next guy to come in after a long layoff and wrestlefuck Hunt, what would Hunt's excuse be then
