Avengers have:

Leader - Captain America
Face of the franchise - Iron Man
Godlike hero - Thor
Most "powerful" - Hulk

Justice League on the other side:

Leader - Superman
Face of the franchise - Superman
Godlike hero - Superman
Most "powerful" - Superman

Justice League on the other side:

Leader - Superman
Face of the franchise - Superman
Godlike hero - Superman
Most "powerful" - Superman
I think Batman is the "leader" and "face of the franchise" of the Justice League for decades now.

Batman was the founder

Supes took the leader role when he returned

When you think of Justice League.. you would always remember Superman first before Batman

I agree mostly. Batman has gotten more love in the movies and pop culture, but Superman is the face of the league in the comcis. As far as actual leadership though, i i think it's almost 50/50.

But you can say the same about Iron man, he has only been the face of the group since the movie.

Cap has always been the leader and face of the avengers (minus the first 3 issues), iron man was always a second row hero .

Funny thing neither Batman or Suoerman were founding members.

Marvel flat out has more likable characters.

DC has been coasting off Batman for years now.

All the people that liked the Watchmen movie are the reason DC isn't doing well.

I think that film benefited greatly from the source material though that kept Snyder from his worst excesses, it could be "edgy" because a character like the Comedian actually had some depth to him.

Snyder to me was really just a guy with a decent visual eye to make pretty close adaptations of stuff like 300 and Watchmen. The DC EU is not such a direct adaptation of quality material, it asks more of him and he doesn't have the ability to deliver as we saw with Suckerpunch.

I don't think he even made good adaptations to 300 or Watchmen.

I felt Watchmen was pretty good as a film and the vast majority of what made it good came pretty directly from the comic. I mean no there not identical to the works there based on but those films I'd say draw much more directly on them that his DC EU films do which demand more input from him.

Its the same with Marvel really, there films do leave a lot of room for director input but superior directors, writters and indeed actors mean there more successful.

DC is basically stuck in the old "look its superman fighting batman! that's gotta be cool!" mode where just having the characters present is enough, Marvel on the other had are much more of a merger of the source material and creative talent.

Completely agree.

David Goyer's the real turd in the pool, y et they're still going to let him do the Green Lantern Corps.

The biggest difference is with justice league DC rushed into it didn't build it up properly like marvel did.

Another huge difference...

Funny how the amount of views on its trailer released foreshadowed this.

But sad cause we got to see the most iconic heroes (sup, ww and bats) fail on screen.

I don't get why people feel the need to compare the two. It feels silly to me.

I agree with this. Marvel Cine is what I could call a great slow sensual HJ, the kind that builds you up with gentle 2-handed wrist twist with some saliva build up , eye gazing, and a few tounge swirls here and there to drive you over the edge. By the time Avengers was release, fans were ready to explode. The build up was that great. DC was the equivalent of a bad HJ, the ones you get from your wife after a few years. It was quick, dry, and with no passion. Hardly memorable. DC didn't "edge" it's audiences for a climax, and thus blew a small load, but for some reason still created a big mess to clean up.
