2. Shevchenko
3. Weili
4. Cyborg
5. Rousey
Respectfully, that's not even close to true. The level of competition and divisional depth are better than ever, except 135.
Valentina Shevchenko?
Weili Zhang?
Ronda Rousey?
You don't have to like their personalities to recognize their exceptional skills and impressive careers.
Fair enough. After all, we are on an aging karate forum literally discussing theoretical rankings for female cage fighters.
Which begs the question; How the hell did I get here?
Really though even with Cyborg who did she actually beat? a lot of her career was based on what she MIGHT do, especially vs Rousey but when she faced a really elite opponent she got murked.Gina is an important WMMA figure historically, but in terms of actual competition and her fight career it's not very impressive. She had a few okay wins (Evinger, Sexton) but the only great fighter she ever fought was Cyborg, and that was easy work for Cyborg.
Considered Fujii. She has a stellar record and was an armbar Queen in her day, but I think the other's narrowly beat her out, just based on the level of competition. Esparza was really her only win over a (future) champion.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for her either as she was at 145lb almost certainly due to PEDs, without them I think she probably would have been able to make 135lbs which was along with 115lbs the weights women had agreed to try and make during the 00's to strengthen a couple of divisions(part of why those remain the strongest divisions to this day). Gina was the reason the 145 division was pushed but at least she was genuinely large enough 135lbs was a difficult cut for her.
According to FightMatrix (this was before Zhang defeated Suarez):

The worst aspect for me(at least achievement wise) is that even those women stepping up from 135lbs were not exactly prooven to be "best of the best", its really a mix of mid level and low level opponents at the time the fights happened.I will never understand the Cyborg - well, fuck, I have no idea what to call it. But she came in heavy four times, fought just as many women who had fought at 125 as she did women who had never fought lighter than 145, and three of them had zero wins at the time. Her resume is a list of can crushing, fighting smaller women and cheating.
If we had a male HW champ who came in heavy four times, failed two drug tests, tried to alter a weigh-in scale to cheat and more than 75% of his resume was people who had fought at 185 and 205 we would shit all over him and justifiably so.
