How would McGregor vs Aldo 2 @ 145 play out?

JDS Countered Velasquez in their first fight. If the rematch didn't happen then people like you would be spurting the same crap. Every fight is different mate. Both fighters are world class and Aldo has all the tools to beat McGregor.

No he doesn't. His main strength in MMA is striking, and Conor is a superior and more powerful striker.

This isn't Cain having a All American wrestling background that he wasn't able to use in the first JDS fight.

So they matched him up against Dos Anjos at the height of his prime, who was champion of the division above... because they didn't want to risk him losing to the guy that he had had just knocked out.

Putting it politely, I think your logic is a little flawed.

On the contrary, that's just low risk/high reward matchmaking on the UFCs part. Had McGregor beaten RDA, he would be double champ; had he lost, then so what? He's brave because he moved up in weight to fight a bigger guy, and he still retains the 145lbs title. On the other hand, had he rematched Aldo and lost, then that would undercut the first victory AND he would no longer be a champion.

Aldo is way past his prime, its comical when the commentators try to make out that he is just as good as always.

I think Conor is going to have problems making 155lbs, let alone 145lbs.
My prediction is that the 155lbs fight in January against Poirier is McGregor's last fight at 155lbs in MMA.
IF he continues I think he will insist on 170lbs only.
