Jones striking is in no way better than Whittaker. At all. Or better distance control. Not a chance.

They're both great at it, but Jones is better. Hence he absorbs far less strikes per minute and lands more, and keeps his opponent at range more/ better

As much as I like Yoel, Jones would pick him apart at range and probably finish him in the championship rounds. It wouldnt be a competitive fight.

Being larger by a substantial margin than your average opponent does not equate to better distance control than Whittaker, who fights mostly larger fighters, better ones too

Even so, he has 4% better significant strike defense when compared with Whittaker, according to UFCs official statistics. Definitely not something impressive
