How would a prime Lord Chael do in todays MW division?

Lord Chael was in his prime around 2008-2012. That's a solid 4 years against a murderous row of fighters.
Considering how weak the middleweight division is today, how do you think he would do?

I would say he's definitely champion material. Lets not forget that he's pretty much 1-1 with the greatest of all time.

I love Chael, but c'mon son.

You think Chael would stand a chance against Romero, Whittaker, Souza, Weidman or Rockhold?

I personally don't even think he'd get past the Brunson's of the world.
 
I would like to test him against Paulo Costa first.

Badly. Weidman, Romero, Rockhold and Whittaker are all bad match-ups.
 
I don't think the MW division is weak at all.I think he'd get stomped vs the top guys,even Luke.His style and skillset don't go well these days.

Think he loses to romero, whittaker, prime rockhold and weidman. Not including steroid :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: anderson. He may beat current rockhold if chael was in his prime. Kelvin gastulem would be a tough fight for anyome honestly. Think he loses to him too. He definitely can beat the rest. Not sure about paulo costa but juiced chael can beat him imo by lay and prey.

Seriously? I know Bisping being champion for two seconds and GSP beating him and vacating that belt, didn't help the division. But you gotta look past that.
You call Whittaker, Romero, Rockhold, Weidman, Souza weak? Do you even watch MMA?

Why am I even replying to a troll topic anyway, anyone with common sense wouldn't call Sonnen a great fighter
 
Would depend entirely on how much money he was offered to throw fights.

Also Chael is a significantly better wrestler, and probably a better pure mat grappler as well, and for sure has better cardio
Cleaner on the feet, though not by much, and worth mentioning that while Brunson is a better athlete I'm not sure Chael isn't much bigger than him

Brunson's also pretty chinny

My prediction would be Derek Brunson by TKO.

Love Chael, but I agree. However, he may have a chance against Rockhold or Weidman if they're having a really bad night, which happens sometimes...like when Weidman fought Mousasi. But I wouldn't bet money on him against any of those guys.
