How will ring rust not be a factor in Dustin/Mcgregor?

I dont think it's going to play much of a factor to be honest. Conor has been popping in whenever he wants for awhile now, and never has been known for a gas tank.

Unfortunately, I think he still wins. Hope I'm wrong.

I urge people to rewatch the first fight, Conor struggles against southpaw fighters, his chin held up but he took some bombs.

The left hand will be there for Dustin, especially after the first round.

Even the finish was due to a shot behind the ear, all the pressure is once again on Conor to finish early. If he encounters any kind of adversity I don't think he'll be ready, he hasn't fought a legit PFP fighter since 2018.

I just went to Fight Pass and Re-Watched.. Dustin landed nothing significant.... He landed about 3 leg kicks.. Conor blocked or slipped all punches.. Walking Dustin down talking shit to him.. 3:35 Conor hits him with a left hand that is partially blocked, but it is so powerful Dustin wobbled anyway.. Then Conor walked him down and TKO'd him.. Total domination..

Conor hasn't fought consistently. He looks about 40 years old and has lost all his hair. His best win in 4 years is Cerrone.

During that time Dustin has fought Miller, Alvarez x 2, Pettis, Gaethje, Holloway, Khabib and Hooker. That is a shit load of experience.

Are people thinking Conor is going to walk in like it's 2015 and have not lost his touch? Possible but extremely unlikely.

yes conor fan boys are thinking that caus they already said dustin a bum an he get smoked in 10 seconds.

He better turn into a great grappler. He ain't outstriking Conor..
He’s a bjj BB and has decent wrestling. He also has the cardio advantage and is a more well rounded mixed martial artist imo (as in more ways to win or dominate a fight). I also believe that his boxing has improved tremendously in the 6 years since their last fight and I think people are sleeping on the fact that LW is obviously a significantly more comfortable weight for DP. I love his chances in this rematch personally.

McGregor despite losing to Khabib looked better against him than Dustin did.

He also completely walked through Cerrone.

This will be a stand up fight and I don't really see how Dustin wins.

Conor has always been his own coach. He always trained whenever he wanted, it's always been like that with him. It's in his old videos and documentaries with him training in the middle of the night. His own coaches say he knows more than they do, they are there for support and to help him through the whole thing. Conor always did his own thing that's why he fights the way he does and no one else they train fights like him.

Very much like Floyd Mayweather as well, he's always training himself whenever he wants to and random ass times in the middle of the night. He does a lot of pad work but he doesn't need people to make him work, he just does the work.
LOL. Conor is not like mayweather and probably puts in 1/10th of what Floyd does.

Conor is such a dynamic striker.. He has so many tools. Look at that little wrinkle he threw in with Cowboy, and the shoulder strikes.. Busted his nose up 10 seconds in.. The KO came right after.. Conor is maybe the fastest starter ever in MMA.. Dustin is NOT.. For 2 rounds he looked pretty slow honestly against Hooker. He needed almost 15 minutes to get going.. Conor won't allow Dustin to get away with a slow start.. Dustin will be asleep..

Clean, not clean, the reality is Dustin actually outlanded him in the fight with much higher accuracy.

For it being such a short fight, Conor took some big punches that would've stumbled lesser chins.

I expect the rematch to go the same way, Conor is gonna take some big punches closing the distance and he'll have to land something big to win. The chance that Conor can KO Dustin clean or get him behind the ear again is less likely than Dustin playing it smart, being prepared, and dragging Conor into the later rounds for a tko stoppage.

LOL, you're making it out to be far more than it is. Dustin landed a few nice leg kicks but he landed nothing meaningful in terms of head strikes. I think you're too infatuated with Joe Rogans commentary when Dustin landed one head strike. In reality he landed nothing that did any damage. Conor walked him down and TKO him easily. And the rematch will have the same outcome.

ring rust isn't a thing. if you are training and sparring, it isn't a thing.
This. I think ring rust is only an issue for a fighter's mentality and confidence. McGregor obviously doesn't lack either of those things.

He's been training. Even with all the partying and shit, he still trains.

I disagree. Conor got to this level and it seems like it was from his crazy work ethic. His style he obviously developed himself because no one else from his team or fighters that his trainers/coaches work with fight anything like him. In his documentary he's always experimenting with different techniques/moves when he's by himself and training at random times whenever he wants to. Mayweather is the same in that regard, Mayweather always trains at random times and whenever he wants to. Both seem like they work on whatever they want to, or what they think they need to.

You can't compare mastery from boxing vs mma because obviously Mayweather will come out on top because that's his respected art. But for mma Conor definitely puts in the work, maybe not as much as before since gaining money and his other business ventures, but the hungry Conor definitely was.

I don't think he did. Even Khabib's father said after he was more worried in that fight than with Conor.

Conor cheated numerous times throughout grabbing gloves, grabbing shorts and knees to the head. Wasn't it twenty fouls or something that was counted? If he hadn't of kneed Khabib in the head when on the ground he would have been submitted with a kimura in round two. Probably even had his arm broken. He was also dropped by a punch.

Dustin was mauled on the ground. But Khabib was much more wary of his standup and Dustin even threatened with the guillotine. Khabib stood right in the pocket with Conor and traded with no fear.

They both fought this year. Ring rust wont be a factor. Conor fought Cowboy 15 months after Khabib and breezed through him in 40 seconds. Only RDA has gone through Cowboy that quick.

really excited for this match dustins stand up changed so much since the first fight he developed this philly shell elbow block that can be seen in the max fight even max said "i cant hit him he's blocking weird" really like to see how conor will get around that

routing for dustin but think conor will win his hands are faster and also starts the fight at a high pace that will overwhelm dustin ring rust wont be a factor conors usually always training and will be hard to tell if its rust or gas tank

You can also flip this around on Dustin.

Look at all the damage he’s taken over the years from the wars in the cage compared to Conor. How will his chin hold up against Conor? Will it be like the first fight again?
