I wasn't able to watch it, unfortunately. Was it close up to the KO?

Yoel always keeps his fights close until the 3rd round.

Okay, so it was close? That doesn't surprise me. Rockhold's a beast and Romero has that power that sticks around.

Luke won the 1st Yoel won the 2nd and the rest is history with gorilla strength shysting. He did not no more try and cut weight than the man in the moon, he was not sucked in at all and poor Luke drained everything he had then on fight day the shyster robs the title shot from Luke because that fake ass belt did not mean shit to either guy.

It was a bit of a nothing fight - They were feeling each other out. Rockhold had some decent strikes from range in the first and Romero landed a few flurries in the second. Always felt like it was building to the KO though. Rockhold's defence was dreadful.

Pretty even... but the threat of a flash KO obviously came from Romero for the most part... which also happened.

Only standing, "sparring like". Few kicks landed here and there in the first round. I think it was Luke's.

Second round, Romero coming strong with punches. Rockhold keeping his distance, trying to gas Romero out. Romero got the round.

Third round Romero is back with a surprising KO

Knew the weight cut issue was going to come up if Rockhold lost.

I am grateful someone asked for it, because I wanted to comment on it ;). In my impression Rockhold's kicks didn't have the snap on the they usually have. Usually they are pretty instant, this time he was loading up on them. Overall he didn't seem as sharp as before the Bisping fight. Romero was inactive in the first, but his striking in the 2nd was like Wanderlei's.. just coming in, throwing hard looping shots. Actually he just had a couple of spurts, and was taking long breaks inbetween.. the announcers aptly described it as "rest and explode, rest and explode". In the 3rd he was doing the same thing, just happened to catch Rockhold with one shot. Actually it didn't land clean, I'm pretty sure that a couple other fighters would barely have been rocked by it.. but Luke went down, Yoel threw one decently powerful left after, and Luke was OUT.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
Yoel said in a post-fight interview that his leg had been broken in the fight. So it wasn't going to be anything more from him than a short burst of punches a few times per round. Fortunately one of those bursts won the fight. Otherwise, if Luke had stuck it out, he might have won on points. It didn't look at all like he was going to win by dominating.

All else spot on except this: Yoel threw an absolute bomb that landed flush and would've koed anyone else

It was a bomb, Luke was moving though and had his head sideways and it sorta more like grazed him. Didn't see replays though, maybe it looks different from another angle and you're right ;)
