How to get into music again?

For me, the hardest thing about getting into new music is that so much of it sounds artificial and fake, and a lot of it also sounds the same.

There's definitely something to be said about recording to tape, or having some kind of "noise" in the background. The majority of modern is too clean and sounds weird, like there's no soul to it.

Funny, my guitar teacher said pretty much exactly the same thing about the new Megadeth album, no reverb or whatever unlike the early albums, too compressed etc. Sometimes it's good to not have an ear for this stuff, I really enjoyed the album.

Same. Some of the albums I love sound like they were recorded in a public toilet but I don’t care 😂

Yeah I do intend to, I just found it so uninspiring. If I want to listen to the Beach Boys I'm listen to the Beach Boys. Maybe they just hadn't found their own sound at that point
I tried to do the same thing with the Beatles. I know some Beatles songs of course, but I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an album of theirs all the way through. I finally decided I was gonna do a deep-dive and just spend days and weeks absorbing myself in their music.
I made it like 20 mins. <lol> I finally faced that I just don’t like them much.

The first thing you should do is stop listening to so much metal. I have no idea how people don't get tired of most of that bullshit after two days.
