How to add an avatar?

I need some help on this. Tried before bout a year ago but couldnt figure it out so I gave up. So, how bout some detailed instructions please?

Go to User CP then down the left it says edit Avatar click that.

Then use a url or have a picture already saved and browse for it. :icon_chee

You have to wait up to 24 hours for it to refresh.... this question is asked almost every day, I do not know why it isn't added to the FAQ.
