It's always the same sport just guys became better and train all aspects.

MMA is a new sport.


There is almost not 1 new move that didn't exist before. Pride era fighters also became ufc Champs. Rampage, Anderson Silva, Shogun. All guys who were similar age as Mirko.

Just nowadays athletes train early in all aspects. None of Mirkos techniques were outdated.

Mirko himself literally said it simply became harder to land head kicks later on because opponents actually knew they were coming compared to his early career where they didn't.

“Everybody is studying my fights. It’s harder and harder to land the high kick. Everybody is expecting the high kick. It’s much easier to do it at the beginning of your career.”

Yes but he also landed them in kickboxing where they are expected. He also fought half his pride fights vs sub par competition that was common there for every star and top fighter.


Why you gotta mention negative things bout Mirko. He was a great fighter. Top notch Kickboxer at HW in the entire world. And was a legit top 5 MMA HW at his peak. HW moved on. But prime Mirko Nog and Fedor and other are also still today's top 10 material. Chris Daukas was top 10 recently. There's like every second or third pride fc hw who ever fought there has a huge chance to beat that guy. Mirko Nog and Fedor also beat ufc Champs. Man got old and slided. Japan also is different nobody gets tested for anything there. If you fail to be impressed by Mirkos career in mma and kickboxing. Perhaps you only watched ufc fights ? You must be a younger fan. It's like watching Tony Ferguson last 6 fights and saying yeah he was not that good. Many orher guys go on slides too. Also Mirko ended his career on 10 wins.

He was a specieman. Go to Youtube watch his pride fights and if you aren't highly impressed then it's you not us. Watch the pride wgp Fedor fights alek fight ect. He was so fast explosive brutal and technical.

You're just a new fan and weren't around in the old times. So you're speaking on things you haven't witnessed.

Being a Fedor and Minotauro fan, I never rated crocop in that league. Obviously a gifted fighter, but never the best or even second.
