Baloney. Rob controlled everything past the first, took him down at will and lit him up on the counter. I’ve got no dog in this fight, but The Knuckles won that 48-47 easily. Don’t rely on biased and drunk Mike too much, or any commentary team reliant upon a UFC salary. This is right up there with Pig Pigg + GSP in terms of a hose job.

Not every media had it for rob tho but i had the fight a draw

Nobody can really agree on the judging of the rounds because there was so little going on. Round 1 I think everyone has for Izzy but it's not a 10-8. Otherwise, you can split the other rounds almost any way you want. I'd give 2 additional rounds to Izzy but it was a had fight all around. I wouldn't be trying to convince people I won that fight if I were Rob - better that everyone forgets it even happened, Rob beats a few contenders, and they do this fight again but with more action

Actually head strikes were 36 Whitaker: 38 Adesanya, with the best shot being Izzy's knockdown of Rob r1.

Leg kicks were 29:13 to Adesanya. And I'd say when they are marking up Robs leg, causing him to wobble or almost kicking him over- as happened a few times- that they are significant enough to count.

We also have a couple of takedowns in there, with no ability to establish control or do damage from them. But maybe enough to get Rob a couple of rounds.

So closeish fight. I can see Rob getting a round, maybe 2 at a stretch. But he was clearly outclassed and unable to put much of a threat to Adesanya imo.

That knock down of Robert is vastly overrated. He was shelled up standing on one leg. Yes the punch landed and was clean but he fell down because he was off balance and not because he got rocked. If both of his feet are planted, then he doesn't get dropped. Also total strikes don't matter since everything is judged off each round. Whittaker was snapping Izzy's head back from just his jabs, yet those leg kicks which didn't affect him (not limp during the fight) seem to get much more credit for some reason. Also outside of that one punch in the 1st round, what did Izzy do that was a threat to Robert?

Round 5 was on the only clear round for Rob to me but I could see giving him 4. 3-2 Izzy or 4-1 Izzy seemed right.

It was a technical and close fight on paper but the body language and pressure won it to me. It looked like he was in complete control of the fight while Rob fought scared.

If 10-10 rounds actually existed in practice, I wouldn't have been surprised to see like 2 here.

Since I’m a pride fan I believe in judging a fight in its entirety rather than by rounds. Adesanya kept the stance of a dominant praying mantis during the entire fight which by law of nature makes him winner.

Scores are based on the present and actions alone, not on anything in the past or efforts as you believe to have perceived them.

He was much more successful this time around and was very competitive throughout, which does not depend on his having been knocked out before. So even though you are bringing up something that doesn't matter, you're still wrong about it

I was rooting for Rob and thought it was possible he coulda took 2, 4, and 5. Definitely not a robbery of any kind but there were some close rounds. I thought Izzy taking the first was the only for sure round out there

I scored it 3-2 Izzy, but I might need a rewatch. I still don't think it'll change my opinion, I just see a lot of people scoring it for Rob and maybe a rewatch without commentary will show me something different.
I'm a massive Whittaker fan too so it's hard to see him lose to Izzy twice like this.

IMO I think he could've fought better than he showed, if he wants a third fight with Izzy it's gonna be pretty fucking difficult to get it now.
Best thing to do is be active and try to get at least 2 fights this year against top contenders like Strickland and Vettori.

If he goes out and fucks up Marvin and Strickland he deserves it.

Wrestlers wrestle as many times as they need to. Like look how many times DC lost to cael Sanderson.
If you have a clear number 2 who has defended his claim to the number 2 spot and earned the shot he deserves it. Just like max deserves it against volk and to me his rematch wasn't as close as Rob's was with Izzy.
Unfortunately, this isn't about sport as much as it is entertainment and frankly I have no idea how a third match does. Rob is a fan favorite so maybe that will help, but I highly doubt he gets another shot, which is a shame because with different judges he could have the belt now.
