How many losses will Max Holloway retire with?

yeah this is insane

Stephens, Lamas, Aldo x2, Gaethje, Ortega, Edgar, yair, Allen, Katter, Pettis, Cub, can all be viewed as elite wins
Exactly. All those guys were champs, challenged for the title or were close to getting a title shot and Max put them to the back of the line.

if you put him top 10 all time
where will you put guys like dc and many more
😂
how many title defenses has max again?
Max is over DC, He has 3 title defenses, All high quality. One against the FW goat aldo, One against an undefeated ortega and one against a former LW champion.

Max will retire soon imo. He has money, still healthy/young, beautiful family, a couple more fights and he calls it a day.
I hope so. I've followed combat sports a long time and this is likely the tail end of his career. 33 is a baby for heavyweight and suitable for LHW and MW. The lower we go in weight class, the more those years matter. He will be completely shot by 35 if he continues.

He will be remembered as one of the most universally respected fighters of all time by fighters, media and fans.

Losses:

3 of which were to Volkanovski, 2 to Poirier and 1 to McGregor and the latest to Topuria

First 2 with Volk were super close. I personally thought he won the 2nd fight

The fight with Poirier at LW was at the wrong time, when he was a undersized, underpowered. Even so, it was competitive.

Despite these losses, most were super competitive. 2 were one sided defeats (Ilia and Volk 3), and both Volk and Ilia are clearly generational talents.

It's actually shocking how many losses he's had as a fan favorite and respected fighter. He already has 8 losses, had his chin finally cracked.

So I think minimum he leaves if he gets KO'd his next 2 fights, so that's 10 losses. Maximum probably be a mixed record and 15 losses. I don't think he's going the Tony/BJ Penn route on his way out, but will put on a show in close losses and still keep fighting like Nate Diaz.

Well, It's not that on paper. 3 of those 8 losses are to volk and 2 are to Dustin, So that's 5 of his 8 losses between 2 elite fighters then one to Illa, who is also elite. Illa, Volk and dustin are 6 of his 8 losses.
and both Volk and Ilia are clearly generational talents.

Dustin also one of the best LW's to do it in the UFC also conor was on a legendary run at FW. Bermudez would be his worst loss

he's more of a fan favorite

he will probably be remembered as a fun fighter who was the 3rd best FW of all time.

Kind of like whittaker at MW

“He already has 8 losses”. To be fair, during that Volk run, no one at FW beat Volk so thats 3 losses which anyone would have suffered at that time. Volk basically won 20 FW fights in 10 yrs before he lost to Topuria (from 2014-2024). I actually think he won the 2nd Volk fight too

People seem to forget how long max has been fighting and all the names he has fought and who those guys were at the time he fought them. If you compare his resume to majority of other ufc fighters regardless of weight classes, his resume is one of the most impressive in the company. Any look at the level of competition on they resume. No softball fight given since his first few fights in ufc. It’s one of the craziest list of names of any current fighter in the game right now.

Max is one of the most beloved fighters of all time & alot people consider him to be in the top 10 fighters of all time.

I personally love Max as a fighter & his personality but I feel like he's a bit overrated, out of his 26 wins he probably just has 3 elite wins in Aldo, Gaethje & Edgar. I will include Edgar even though he was old & undersized when Max beat him.

Topuria deserves all the credit for koing Max & finally cracking his legendary chin but if you look at Max's last few fights you'll realise how much damage Max has taken & honestly it might be the end of his chin & championship level career.

Max has taken some legendary beatings against Porier, Volk, Yair & Arnold. He finally got dropped for the first time against Gaethje & got koed against Topuria.

I personally think Max's chin is gone forever & see him losing against pretty much everyone in lightweight top 3, he's not touching the belt ever again. Alot of people are counting Porier out but I feel he beats max again.

Max already has 8 losses in the UFC & he's only 33.

By the time Max retires how many losses do you guys think he will have & how will he be remembered?
I love Max but I think Dustin KO's/TKO's him in this fight. The power discrepancy was very apparent in their first fight. Max's chin has been cracked and I think it gets cracked again.

If he gets chinned twice in a row or gets 50-45ed twice then he should call it quits

I think he beats Dustin this go around. He's filled out and is more equipped for lightweight, while Dustin is past his prime unlike last time. Also Topuria is different.

It starts somewhere, 11-12 loses, it depends on how well he does for the remainder of his career, i dont see him fighting well in his late 30´s before calling it quits.

The real questions is, will Max ever face a black fighter before he retire?

Exactly, hes fought everyone at 145 and several great 155ers.

Other than beat Volk (which he did in their 2nd fight) There isn't much more he could have done

I guess we'll know when he retires... You nerds ask some weird questions.
