How is Renato Moicano that good? Does it make sense?

Bsd had no mma coach for that fight camp. Moicano had a great gameplan to time a takedown off the body kick that vsd always opens with, then he was very prepared for bsd's butterfly sweep.

Moicano is elite on top and no joke. He got dominant position fast and inflicted damage.

Despite that, though, bsd still took round two on some scorecards lol..

Also, bsd started mma like ten tears after moicano and is still learning. He Probably won't peak in terms of skill development for another year or two.

Moicano is legit but he isn't elite. BSD is in the same category but is getting better. When he fought Moicano he wasn't as developed as he is now.

It puzzles me how Moicano had such an easy time against BSD. We have to be honest here and tell it like it was, he made Benoît look like he didn't even have the basics of fighting.
It looked like a seasoned, professional fighter matched up with somebody who dipped his toes in the amateur waters for the first time. Two very different levels.

But for some reason, these other top names in the division doesn't have it in them to exploit Saint Denis' lack of awareness when he's trying to overwhelm you.

At first, after their fight, my suspicion was that BSD must be overhyped. Too unpolished for ranked guys. But when he's going through Ruffy, Dariush, Hooker now the only explanation
that remains is Renato Moicano truly being elite. On a clearly higher level than these guys when it comes to IQ and to find what works.

Is that it, or was Renato somehow just lucky in how much better he looked? Thoughts?
I've been wondering the same thing myself. Perhaps BSD just has a bad ground game from his back and subpar wrestling; not to play revisionist history, but the guys he has been taking down and winning against have not been known for their takedown defense. I wonder how BSD would do against Grant Dawson or someone else that's a strong top positional grappler. It very well may just be a stylistic thing.

He can't fight off his back and dan hookers record speaks for itself.

Moicano is a far better grappler than Hooker or Ruffy, and you can't tell much from the 16 seconds Dariush fight. He had a good read on how to take him down and BSD isn't as good at avoinding punishment on the ground as he he is at giving it.

It was because Moicano refused the Anti Trust lawsuit payout and so they made BSD take a dive so Moicano could make less than that beating him.

With all due respect that’s a lot of cope in one post… you can just be honest and say BSD’s made a name for himself taking handpicked fights against middle of the pack strikers while ducking guys like Gamrot.

Skill wise BSD is terrible, his striking defense and grappling defense are atrocious. He just makes up for it outmuscling and overwhelming limited fighters with nonstop offense.

The two guys he faced with legit black belts finished him. He looked flat out clueless trying to operate a guard against Moicano and flat out broken, he wanted out and got pulverized at home.

BSD is someone the UFC coddles because of their limited star power in their coveted French market. They learned their lesson and they’ll keep him away from actual grapplers who’ll continue exposing his slop.

The real question is why the fuck did Moicano lose so handily to washed Dariush?
For all the praise Moicano gets for iq vs BSD he had the worst IQ that fight he was hurting Benny early with strikes then tried to force several baf TDs. Defensive wresting is Benny's wheelhouse he stuffed em easy and made Moicano pay each time until moicano was too tired/hurt to be affective.
Had moicano just trusted he could ko benny he'd have done just like Arman or BSD.

Lol
Come on, man.
7 losses. 3 of them vs champs or former champs, 2 vs former title challengers, and even the worst 2 losses are guys that have been reasonably close to the title picture.

I get that this is sherdog though, so everyone who have never been champs or are not undefeated sucks by default.

Terrible and atrocious is too much.

He is limited. Good body kick and he has a strong option to get up when he is on the bottom. Maybe he doesn’t have multiple options but it got him far enough to this point.

He climbed the rankings too soon but he is a solid pick on the roster. A few more fights at this level of competition and then we can reevaluate.

Moicano is an excellent grappler and was kicking BSD's ass, but I am still very sure that BSD was going to win that fight.

I never said that.
Hes just not, nor ever was, champ material IMO.

Dariush was supposed to be the test you wanted, but his chin is shit unfortunately

Well to be fair... before Hooker decided to trip BSD into full mount Hooker was stopping the Takedowns and winning the fightb

No he wasn't. 2 judges gave bsd round 1, and he was almost certainly winning round 2 even before hooker panic wrestled.
