His defense is bad. He got clipped and wobbled badly by both Cejudo and Moraes.

One day some is gonna hit him good and get the TKO. And when he loses the belt the UFC will do everyhitng in their power to keep him away from it
 
IF Merab loses this weekend, it'll be via KO. In the future, who knows. He has an extreme belief in his ground game, but he can be caught in a sub.

He has a belief in his chin, but if it gets hit often enough, or hard enough he'll go to sleep. In another 3 years or so.... Nurmagomedov might have the cardio to decision him.

Time is undefeated.

Damage is the top criteria. Sean O'Malley does more damage in the first round. Yan gets a takedown and does nothing with it and that seems to sway a lot of people for some reason.
 
Sean is more capable than anyone in the division of cracking that chin. We also know that he’s capable of hurting Merab to the body. I think it’s pretty likely that Sean gets the finish or wins a decision where he hurts Merab multiple times throughout the fight.

Lmao, people still claiming Yan beat Sean. Yan fans are worse and more delusional than Sean fans. Yan got pieced up in that fight and tried to stall out a decision win. Thankfully it didn’t work.
 
If merab and sean fight ten times sean kos him twice. So it may be one of those times but probably not

Idk call me crazy there is something to be said about how you win. Merab is impressive but his lack of finishing or even threatens or attempts to finish shouldn't be ignored.

I used to think like that too but the streak is undeniable. Merab may have a boring style (though it's grown on me) but no one else at 135 is going through as stiff competition as Merab has.

He's been rocked in his last 3 fights in a row(not sure if you count hurt to the body against O'Malley as "rocked", but in trouble nonetheless), so he could get finished, but he could lose a decision also, and he's already been submitted. He doesn't win 10-8 rounds, so you just have to win the first 3 to seal it.
 
Anyone can get caught with a shot that turns the lights. Sean will be looking to do that. He realizes that's his best path. I don't think Merab loses but he will see a more determined dangerous Sean this. He better not think it will be an easier fight.
 
Father time is going to be the only thing to beat Merab. When his cardio goes he's done.
