Food & Drink How high can you go on the Scoville scale and still enjoy your food?

I'm at about the habanero range for the top end. Not a huge habanera flavour fan but I do like the heat.

I can tolerate higher, but things become less enjoyable then.

I grew some chocolate habs a cpl years ago, they're prob my ceiling. Maybe beyond it. Fuckers are strong.

Went to Buffalo Wild Wings and Mango Habanero was about as hot as I could tolerate. It's fun, once in a while, but usually I like the middle of the road stuff.

What level is that blue tortilla chip I see everyone eating on tiktok?

I know most of you can go high on the Scoville scale as a matter of competition. But the question is how high can you go and still actually enjoy your food? For me I can enjoy lots of things with Jalapeno, and I often use cayenne in my Chili recipe. Dominos also has Habanero wings that sometimes annoy me with their burn but I enjoy nonetheless. So I guess Habanero would be my limit

Habanero is about as high as I’ve gone.

I’ll go scotch bonnet. I cut them up and put them on pizza and stuff regularly.

If my lips start burning that’s where my limit usually is. I like habanero and Thai chilis. Eating crazy hot stuff is dumb.

A friend of mine got hot sauce in his eye while eating the hottest wings in the area. Straight to the hospital he went lol

I regularly eat native hot Thai and Indian food.

Can’t do Carolina Reapers though. Had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich made with reaper and I couldn’t get through more than two bites. Even then it ruined my day.

This is the hottest thing I could find. Goes up to 16,000,000 Scoville.

Anyone here up for the challenge?

Had ghost pepper pasta at hell night at a East Coast Grill in Boston. Had to leave my stomach hurt so bad. That was brutal. So a little less than that for me. Instant pain when you get that level. Eaten some pretty hot wings in my life so I'd say habenero is likely the limit for me.

The Carolina Reaper was surpassed, in October '23, by 'Pepper X'.

Carolina Reaper = 1.64 million Scoville
Pepper X = 2.69 million Scoville

I can handle Ghost pepper, but its not enjoyable , and im pretty much done after a few bites, but to be enjoyable, cayenne is my go to.

Habanero is where I exit. Anything hotter and I just don’t enjoy the experience at all. Personally don’t get anything out of coughing, sniffling, and having to deal with other bodily fluids while eating. Just not my bag

I'm not a big fan of super spicy foods, and I'm prone to heartburn. There's a few things with japs on them that I could enjoy if it wouldn't kill me.

I'll say Jalapeno. Last time I had a Serrano it was way too hot.

Not that hot - I prefer not to traumatise my asshole.
