If Anderson becomes champ in 2019 we will all forget about the disaster that was the Bisping reign.

As great of a victory it would be for Anderson Silva at this stage of his career, I'd hate to see him face Whittaker/Yoel./Kelvin

It's as good for the division's future as Bisping's title shot/reign was. That is to say, not good at all.

Yup, but I get the feeling Andy will end up fighting one of the three regardless of his bout with Izzy. He deserves praise for taking this type of fight.

No matter where you stand on his sanctions, credit where credit is due. He is prizefighting royalty. The guys he wrecked were juiced up too ffs

As far as GSP moving up and fighting the champion a weight class higher, Anderson never did that either, and never wanted to. He never wanted to fight Chuck or Jones; GSP accomplished everything that Anderson did and more. The fact that GSP never fought Anderson just means that he did the same thing Anderson did.

GSP moved up and fought Michael Bisping. Anderson Silva fought two LHW champs, Forrest Griffin and Daniel Cormier.

And he had a day or 2 for DC, lasted longer than stipe, rumble, No Time and even staggered DC to the body late in the last round. Anderson is a hitman with voodoo tricks

Anderson is doing this to try to regain his legacy which is tarnished by losses and roid busts. GSP doesn't need to because he never tarnished his legacy. Anderson has been calling out GSP and (lol) Conor lately. Awfully brave to call out smaller guys.
Well said. Gsp moved up and finished bisping to collect yet another title. Anderoid couldn’t beat bisping.

Feed Anderson to Yoel after he loses to Israel.

I'd 100% say he deserves it if it wasn't for Jacare.

I don't believe dana's lies but he also doesn't deserve it. not at this point. not with the current landscape of the division it's pretty insulting to say that he does. regardless of his previous accomplishments

I think it would take a miracle for Anderson to beat The Style Bender at this point of their respective careers.

Anderson will never be in title contention again. His prime was absolutely amazing, but that ship has sailed for good.

Yah why not give him a title shot. If he's able to beat Israel who's lining up to be a top contender he's certainly relevant as a top fighter. He's got that win over Brunson last year who was top 10 as well. 2-0 with two top 10 wins. Jacare is also a contender but he's got a couple losses in his last 5 fights. Romero is 1-2 and no one else has been doing much.

None of the three really have done much to be a credible contender, like someone who's on a big streak with top wins like Usman, Colby, Ferguson, Ortega etc. But Anderson is the greatest champion at MW by far so he's got that going for him more than Jacare and Romero.

I'm just happy that Anderson is willing to fight the champs and contenders that GSP was clearly afraid of

Who did Silva fight that GSP was afraid of? Last I checked they have been in different weight classes their entire UFC tenure. The only commonality is that they both fought Bisping. Silva lost to Bisping and GSP finished him...

So you're saying he wont beat Adesenya?? But the fact that he's in a #1 contenders fight already means he's in title contention.

I was talking about the criticism of GSP not moving up to fight Anderson when they were both champs that is so common here, the point being that Anderson never did the equivalent when he was champ..

I don’t think he deserves a title shot. Failed PED tests, lackluster performances / inactivity, a division that has other contenders, etc.
