I think he's just messing with you with the lack of response. Thats why the quick dismissal. You were fair about your gun right assessment regardless of trans or not. We agreed on your points. It gets ridiculous trying to say which type of mental issues warrant removal of guns. 100% agreed.

Yet, somehow, I am carrying water for him? I don’t blame people for how they voted. That is their business and not mine. I don’t hate people or blame them for how they voted. It is a right every American has (and some illegal immigrants, felons, and dead people when dems have their way-just don’t ask them to have voter id) one of the few issues I share with most republicans-the voter id aspect. But imo opinion, voting is a private issue unless one chooses to share.

In my personal life, I don’t discuss politics with many people. I prefer them not to know my affiliations or opinions because it causes issues. Also, now that I have students, I don’t believe it is proper to discuss my personal politics or let them be known to students.

Hell, a college professor from a community college at another school was bragging to my wife how she had a class the week before the election where she bashed harris to “educate her students” on the issues. My wife, a raging liberal and also a college administrator, said “seriously” and the woman replied “well, I just think they should know her policies before they vote as many of them, it’s their first time voting. My wife just rolled her eyes, but it wasn’t just because of this other teacher being a trump maniac, it was over the unprofessionaliam on display by a supposed professional academic when she tried to influence voters who likely felt pressured to agree or get a bad grade, or this woman trying to influence maybe undecided and impressionable students because she’s in a respected position of power and influence over them.

But my issue here is that I have repeatedly made my disdain known for trump….and most democrats as well. And there are still idiots that call me a liar. After tagging me and expecting me to say that trans shouldn’t have second amendment rights not knowing that I am strong second supporter, @Crazy Source was disappointed in my answer because he is flat out wrong in who I support or vote for or my opinion and stance on this matter. So, rather than appreciate a thoughtful response that he asked for, he calls me a liar and blames me for trumps policies and accused me of voting for him. When I absolutely did not vote for trump, his only response is “well, you carry water for his side.” When I asked for receipts, it’s crickets. It’s almost like mack yancy is back

Unrelated to most of that, but I used to be considered heavily tattooed 15-20 years ago and people made a lot of assumptions about me bc of it. Assumptions that were correct and I appreciated.

Now society has swung so far in one direction people will occasionally assume I’m a proud boy or some apologist for shitty cops because sleeves and hand tattoos don’t mean what they used to.

Might have to tattoo the sides of my head if this keeps up.

I waited over 20 years to get any tats because I would have had to wear neoprene sleeves or long shirts while I was a cop. Retired in 20, it still waited 3 years to really be sure of what I wanted and who I wanted to do it. Now I have 4-I posted in the Mayberry as I got each. But what’s really funny is last year, my old department changed their tattoo policy and officers can have them so long as they’re approved by the command staff. Now, all the officers are all tatted up.

Clearly, we are not alike, but you’re plain wrong. I do not rail against trans at all. I am vocal about men/males in women’s sports. I also don’t agree that we should pay for sexual reassignment surgeries. That’s a private healthcare issue. And I think we should have gender neutral bathrooms every place that we can to accommodate all genders rather than men or former men in women’s and girls restrooms. Other than that, I am all in favor of trans people have the same rights as everyone else.

As for the immigration issue, again, you are dead wrong. I am not in favor of how trump is doing this. I have said repeatedly that I want to deport all of the criminals that keep getting arrested. I am not ok with an open border, but recognize that most of the illegal immigrants we have are very hardworking individuals and I think we need to move towards getting them naturalized. I wish we allowed more in LEGALLY and it should not be near impossible to get in quickly once vetted.

Seriously, how could you be so wrong about so much? It makes me seriously question your intelligence or at the very least, your ability to pay attention or recall things correctly. I am almost famous for being notoriously “both sides bad” and speak on it frequently and get lambasted very frequently for my hatred of both sides because so think it a cop out. I am more conservative when it comes to crime and punishment and second amendment rights, but I am more liberal when it comes to drug treatment programs and mental health issues. It mostly, I think I am consistently middle of the road and I strongly dislike the past 25 years of potus candidates and almost every senator (one of whose is my neighbor) and I and my wife strongly dislike her pro trump policies and how republicans in my state ran on campaigns that basically said “we support trump” and I am not shitting you on that. They literally accused their opposition as “being opposed to trump”

I don’t doubt your intelligence in general, but I seriously don’t know how you could claim to disagree with me so much, yet you were absolutely wrong on every issue you brought up when it comes to my very public (on here, anyway) stances. I don’t know what you mean about the direction of the wind, though. At least when it comes to this conversation. And we damn near had an open border the last four years

I disagree. Over 7 million illegals entered the country between 2020 and 2024 during bidens admin. I have absolutely no issue with someone that disagrees with me. I welcome debate. It’s why I have been on here for over twenty years. But I do take umbrage when someone misrepresents my stances, hence, my reaction.
