How does Marvin Vettori have no power?

I always felt like if for some reason I had to fight a pro MMA fighter, prime Lombard would have been one of my last choices. Dude was scary.
Yep. Palhares would be very scary, too...especially if he didn't let go off the knee bar as you frantically tapped.

Here are the genetics of Marvin as fighter

Cardio 5/5
Strength 4.5/5
Power 1/5

Mentally

Work ethic 5/5
Toughness 4.5/5
Creativity 1/5
Fight iq 2/5

He's got all the slow fitch fibres, strong and durable. Not explosive nor smart to do anything that isn't basic and straight forward.

Simply slow twitch dominant athlete.
But then you have guys like Leben who aren't very fast or explosive but hit like a fucking truck.

if he had mixed in that decent wrestling with his good cardio, he could have been a middleweight version of Merab Dvalishvili.

Merab has tremendous fight IQ and rarely puts himself in danger. He is not an Orc like Vettori who rely on his chin to win matches. Merab's striking also isn't flashy but is far more competent than what people give him credit for, similar to Belai. Vettori's striking flat out sucks.

I was just being an asshole. But aside from the gold medal sprinter who’s part black or something, I can’t really think of an Italian power athlete or athlete that had notable “power.” Maybe in soccer? I don’t know.

Italians let me know brah.
Luigi Mangi...

Nevermind 😅

His biggest issue is range of motion and the way he plants his feet when he strikes. He doesn't sit on his punches and he's muscle bound in the wrong way and it prevents him from punching through his targets. When he throws its almost like he has resistance band on. He would probably benefit for a lot of stretching especially in his back and shoulders and losing a little bit of weight. Or stay jacked and really lean on grappling and wrestling

Unrelated to the topic at hand, but let us not forget that when Marvin signed for this fight, he thought he was signing up for Roman Kapylov.

He also forgot his cup and had to go behind a curtain to put it in after one of his cornermen retrieved it.

Never change, Marvin.
