How does Holland generate so much power from the bottom?

I don't think he got lazy. I just think he thought he was safe. Nobody expects fight ending punches from that position.

Credit to Holland. Kid looks good, real good.

Isn't that being lazy though? When you think you're safe and you let up a bit? I think he thought he could easily control Holland on the ground and paid the price..

Well he got lucky jacare reverted back to his first day of bjj class and gave him the daylight, and just stood there deer in headlights basically begging to get hammerfisted.

Jacare backed off sloppy and grabbed his leg to get a better position, whatever he was doing it was dumb and let himself wide open.

Holkand put his whole body and momentum into the shots

The first set of elbows changed the fight, from then on Jacaré was hurt already

Long limbs and natural balance/leverage. The way he was maneuvering on the ground with Jacare was impressive. I don’t want to say “freak athlete”, but he’s got some natural positional awareness in the octagon. Deals well with whatever space/position he’s in. Either natural, helluva student or both.

Well you can see it in the mechanics of what he was doing. He generated enough distance, managed to rotate into his punch and he clipped Jacare on the temple which destroys equilibrium, allowing him to follow up.

I've never seen someone generate so much power from the bottom. It wasn't the elbows you've seen Anderson, Sotiropoulos, etc. use either that generate power from the bone. He was swinging his hands and getting real power into a punches. He was beating Jacare like Fedor on top of Big Nog. How did he do this?
Because of his long reach. Thats the only reason, and its simple physics really.

No one is discussing it, and it isn’t in the gifs, but Jac was hurt already by the punch thrown right before the gifs start. You can see Jac covering his face with his hand before the stunning shot lands.

Agreed and I’m not sure how this isn’t obvious. Jacare was essentially rendered unconscious at least twice in that fight. I’ve never seen him back off top position like that before. He’s usually aggressive af

Nothing to take away from Holland, in fact it makes me more impressed by his game. Dude is lethal from anywhere

Jacare fucked up.

by sitting up he gave Holland space, he held Holland’s legs which gave him a fulcrum/base to create leverage and he didn’t seem to be aware that he was getting punched in the face, like it never crossed his mind that someone would do that.
(Most people shit their pants when Jacare gets them down)

The fact that Holland was so calm and unfazed with Jacare on top speaks volumes to his mental game.

Where most guys would panic he was talking and looking for a finish.

He postured up tho precisely because he was still feeling the elbows from prior. He didn’t want another dosage of that nor would he have been able to absorb it again. I think he knew that
