He might win, Whitaker's past his prime, his chins not solid either anymore imo. I think going by styles Costa would've been a tougher matchup for Khamzat. Hopefully Whitaker survives to take the fight to the later rds.

I expect Khamzat to look really good in round one like he did against Burns and Usman. He lucked out not having to fight in a 5 round main event against Whittaker because I don't think he wins without a first round finish. Whittaker should still win in a 3 round fight but it will be competitive.

I strongly believe that Khamzat has some kind of chronic illness that has basically destroyed his conditioning, i think him and his team are keeping it on the lowdown. Whitaker will KO him in the 3rd or 4th once he gases. And i think he retires after this fight.

It's no mystery, his health massively degraded after he caught Covid and got very sick with it, the worst part was that he still went training while not fully recovered from it, leading to him coughing up blood everywhere in the gym and at home so ended up in hospital. Since then whenever he trains heavy he seems to get very sick and his breathing system gets screwed.

I'm no doctor, but if I were to take a guess, I believe he's suffering from some long-term after-effects from Covid.

If you consider that on one side both your breathing and immune systems took a massive hit and that now whenever he trains to try and optimise his cardio he basically gets sick, making it worse, it must be very tricky to get in fight shape to fight a top-level MMA fight...

Just like the others I think he's a real danger in the first round or two, but I think any opponent at that level who can make the fight last and survive through his beast fury at the beginning of the fight has a big chance of winning. If Whittaker doesn't stupidly gets caught I think he's got this.

It's unlikely to be a point fight. Whittaker has had his ups and downs but he's looked really good lately. Getting past Costa was no joke.
Khamzat is a threat on the feet and the ground though. He's looked great in every fight so far. I was impressed with his Usman MW performance.
Either guy has the power to put the other guy out. I'd prefer to see a big Khamzat win. I think it would present so many great potential MW match ups.

I honestly think you may be 100% correct. Speaking from personal experience, I went from being an incredibly active D1 Athlete to having trouble walking up a flight of freaking stairs within a few months of being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. It effectively retired me as an athlete and my cardio fell off a cliff and never recovered.
It got so bad that I couldn't even work for a few years in a row and I've been on a roller coaster ride of quite literally getting the shit kicked out of me every day ever since. Good times. Wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy.

I have given up predicting Chimaev. Didnt think he was going to beat Usman, and he did. Dont expect him to beat Whittaker, but he might. I think Whittaker will be able to stuff the wrestling early and outclass on the feet. Chimaev will need to win in the wrestling to take this one.

IF he does beat Whittaker, I think he will be considered a legit top fighter in the division. No more "is he real" conversations.
