How Do You Think Khamzat Will Perform Against Whittaker?

Assuming he actually makes it to the fight I can’t figure out how this will go down. Khamzat will almost certainly look to wrestle immediately but if Whittaker can avoid being taken down or avoid serious damage on the ground he can find his rhythm on the feet. Important to note that this is a fight round fight too. I’m as curious as anyone to see if Khamzat can live up to the hype here.

He might win, Whitaker's past his prime, his chins not solid either anymore imo. I think going by styles Costa would've been a tougher matchup for Khamzat. Hopefully Whitaker survives to take the fight to the later rds.

Is it a 3 round fight? Khamzat has a better chance in a 3 rounder..

If it's a 5 round fight he would need an early finish or he gets washed in the later rounds.

It's a toss up fight for me but I might pick Khamzat because he has more ways to win especially if it's a 3 round fight.

I strongly believe that Khamzat has some kind of chronic illness that has basically destroyed his conditioning, i think him and his team are keeping it on the lowdown. Whitaker will KO him in the 3rd or 4th once he gases. And i think he retires after this fight.

Facts:

1. Khamzat has proven to more or less have a 1.5 round gas tank. He starts strong but fades badly.
2. This is a 5 round fight (his first), and Whittaker has plenty of championship round experience.
3. This is the first true top 10 MW that Khamzat has faced. His only 2 previous fights against true MWs were John Phillips and Gerald Meetschaert. He also fought Usman, a lifelong WW at 185, which doesn't really count in my mind.
4. Whittaker is up in age and has a lot of mileage.

Given these facts, the most obvious outcome would be Khamzat comes out fast, Whittaker withstands the early barrage, Khamzat gasses, and Whittaker wins via decision or possibly a late stoppage. I do give Khamzat a real chance to possibly finish it early. Whittaker has been chinny at times and could easily get caught.

Nearly 10-8s Rob in round 1, round 2 is a bit less damaging then round 1, Round 3 or 4 Rob nukes Khamzat on the feet

I think there is a chance that Khamzat doesn’t come out like a Mac truck being driven by the Incredible Hulk , if you were in his corner what would you be telling him ? If you gas this guy is going to fuck you over , I think it’s only 3 rounds , win the first with a takedown or 2 and maybe turn up the heat a bit in the 2nd if you think a finish is there , but he’s got to realize that if the chamber is empty and there’s more than 3 minutes left in the fight he’s in deep water

If it's a 3 round fight, Chimaev probably does enough in the first 2 rounds to get a UD. If it's 5 rounds I can see Bobby getting the nod.

Injuries, fights and damage wise - he is past prime

Khamzat is 3 years younger at 30 and should have improved from his last fight.
This makes it a good fight.
