How do you see Cormier vs. Stipe playing out?

Saying Stipe didn't fight anyone in their prime is false and petty.
When he KO's Daniel it will be the same story again no matter that many people think DC wins, after he loses it will be the same story again, too old, never that good bla bla

Cormier's pressure fighting has never worked against anyone as a big and strong as Stipe. When he's beaten guys bigger than him in the past he's had a big speed and striking advantage, which he doesn't have in this fight.

Really tough match-up for Cormier. I think Stipe takes this one.

Stipe is a weird one. Werdum was out striking him until he got careless. JDS hobbled him with leg kicks. Overeem about knocked his head off. BUT....Stipe still KOd them stiff and finds ways to win. He's no joke and his resume is now outstanding. I think his luck runs out with DC. But maybe he will prove me wrong again.

Stipe gets taken down and raped.

Stipe asks, "What the hell is this? Olympic Wrestling?"

Cormier unconscious

Gotta disagree with you bro, I think DC wins via TKO or UD.

I think the wrestling gap will be different and Stipe has been rocked before (not that DC hasn't), but I think DC's chin is harder than Stipe's.

I see Cormier taking stipe down and submitting him inside 2 rounds

Stipe needs to fight long. because as good a wrestler as he is or might be, DC is a far better grappler.

DC can eke out a round or 2 standing too, like he did against Jones.

so Stipe needs to move quickly and laterally and fight long.

but he likes to come in. he's unafraid. and Cormier can have fast hands.

i really don't know, and look forward to finding out. i lean toward Cormier by RNC, because he came inside sloppily and got tossed, hooked, and wrapped.

First off how can you be on sherdog too much when you' re probably billing someone for the time? Here's how this fight goes. If Stipe lands big, bad night for DC. If DC clinch s Stipe, bad night for Stipe. This fight is actually that simple. I'll pvt. msg. You my bill (350/ hr min. 3 hr.).

Not that simple. Stipe has been dropped before. DC had a good chin but it may have been cracked, we'll see.

DC isn't a great striker but his wrestling magnifies it. DC could easily land the big punch that drops Stipe and then finishes him with GnP or a sub.

This fight makes no sense.

STipe KOs DC in less than 1 round by repeatedly punching him in the face till he falls down.

What the flippin fluck else could happen?

DC outboxes Stipe?
lol

DC ground and pounds Stipe for 5 rounds?
lol

your confidence is high. if i knew you i would gladly offer to bet you even money that it lasts longer than a round. and you wouldn't take me up on it.

Stipe defends takedowns.

TKOs Cormier in one or two rounds.

I have a hard time imagining how this fight plays out. Usually when this is the case, the fight gets called off. I am not a psyhcic, just a tax accountant who is on Sherdog too much in his spare time. But the last time I couldn't predict how the styles would clash was Khabib vs. Tony.

I don't think this fight happens... Cormier or Stipe gets hurt. Sorry.

But in the rare chance it does happen, what goes down? Do you guys think Cormier can wrestle Stipe? Has anyone outwrestled Stipe in the UFC? We know he is an accredited wrestler and utilized his wrestling in his offense quite successfully a few times... but has anyone tried to wrestle him? How will he hold up?

He sometimes leaves his head exposed and with the real threat of takedowns that Cormier imposes, this could be interesting because I can see him getting clocked with an overhand. And what will Stipe's cardio be like defending so much pressure?

We know Cormier can take a shot, he took a real shot from Rumble and lived to talk about it. Can he take Stipe's shots? Stipe is without a doubt the baddest man on the planet, but the HW division is also pretty shit. He is on a nice run, but Francis aside (who has never been really tested, he just had a couple nice KOs and got pushed to the moon), Stipe never fought prime level competition.

The focus of this fight I feel revolves on Cormier's wrestling... he could ragdoll the likes of Barnett, Hendo, etc... but against Jon Jones and Alex Gus who have physical traits (6'3 or taller, long reach) similar to Stipe, he did not have success at all.

dc become a real champ champ.

Both are solid champs, and the fight has all the elements to be awesome.

But I'm nor sure if it's the fight that I would like right now. I'd prefer DC and Stipe defending their belts.
UFC needs champs who defend their belts, otherwise is just a joke.

Everyone keeps talking about this mythical HW Cormier like he's gonna smash stipe.
That was a younger DC fighting in strikeforce. He's a lot older now and in the twilight of his career...
He's not gonna be the same guy, I see Stipe negating the wrestling and getting the KO in 3 rounds.
Sorry but DC is coming up on the end of his run.

he wasnt even wrecking dudes once he got the ufc he was winning decisions lol. just cuz he beat bigfoot, nelson, mir and barnett all of a sudden hes like the uncrowned hw king. its kinda hilarious

Miocic layed on Ngannou like a human blanket for a 50% of rounds 2 and 3 and pretty much 100% of round 4 of their fight and he was still gassed in round 5. Even then he spent half the round hugging Ngannou against the cage until Herb Dean seperated them. I was not impressed by Miocic's cardio especially in the later rounds.

In round 5 Ngannou was literally plodding around the centre of the cage, hands down, gasping for air and Stipe couldn't finish him.

Unless he get's a quick knockout I believe DC will out-last him and could even submit him especially when Miocic gasses.
