I don’t think the level of growth from the last few years can continue. There’s not a lot of slack left in the workforce. So, even with great ideas and high ambition, it’s going to be harder to grow in the next few years than it’s been coming out of the recession. Talent is getting more and more expensive as the number of jobs wildly exceeds the number of qualified workers.
I think this nails it in terms of my sentiment.
Honestly I feel what will really hurt things is a "behind the curtain reveal" on 1-2 companies with scandals for trying to falsify gains that are economically relevant enough that it scares the shit out of people via bankruptcy causing lending to plummet. The consumer seems pretty confident still, but I feel like the average joe who overspends is the last to figure it out and then suffers the most from overextension.

Because he’s running America like a business

This dude declared bankruptcy multiple times, not sure how you think him running the country like a business is a good thing.

Unlike a private business, the US continually absolving its debts by declaring bankruptcy isn't really a viable solution.

Put your account if you are so damn sure, because I am. If you think I’m nuts it’s 100% win for you, but when I win I’m going to enjoy the shit out of your loss

No one cares about your scrub ass 6 month old account

The idea that the economy would grow at 5% while already at hear full employment is equivalent to 2+2=7. It should have not been touted as a legitimate projection, yet here we are with a tax bill sold on that basis.

Anyone who is truly left isn't measuring the quality of the US economy according to the price of gasoline, the size of their personal paycheck or where the Dow closed.
Anyone who has some understanding of how the economy works, regardless of party, wouldn't base their overall opinion of the economy on those metrics either.

This.
The answers are very partisan.
My answer 6 months ago was different than it is today.

Markets have been indicating a downturn lately and housing prices are sky high, but oil is cheap and there's close to full employment as ever. Curious what the war room thinks about the state of things overall (without blaming a political party, strictly with regard to overall sentiment). Seems like so many people are caught up in potential Trump impeachment stuff (whether legit or not) rather than the economy as a whole, which has had huge gains lately.

It's going strait up shit creek as soon as the "markets" decide it's beneficial to the movers to account for trump selling the country wholesale

Media will be going on a long campaign to damage the economy to help Democrats in 2020. Just as they did in 2003-2004 and 2007-2008 even tho the economy was much better then than under Obama. It's all about perception. They literally spent the entire campaign year trying to undermine consumer confidence and use all their resources to hurt the Dow and make believe that the economy is bad and more taxes and regulation will somehow make it better. Trump was left with an absolute mess.

And no one in the media is even honest enough to talk about this. That's how partisan they are.

What are you on about?
The entirety of the media has its wealth embedded in major market investments and a drop in shareholder value across US exchanges would be destroying their own ballooning nest eggs.
Let me guess, you think NBC is strictly socialist and have never stopped to wonder how they have an entire network (CNBC) dedicated to glorifying stock investment and libertarian biz-pitch reality stuff (Shark Tank)

I feel like wage growth still sucks vs. the unemployment rate and the costs of housing, healthcare and education.

In other words, the middle class continues its death march.

Save it for someone who can remember past last month. I knew during the 2003-2004 campaign that I could never under any circumstances vote for a Democrat when their entire campaign centered around damaging the economy to hurt Bush and win an election. They care nothing about the country. Why they support this immigrant invasion no matter how it impacts them as well.

Serious question: how much have you drank tonight?

I want to see the economy do well and for the lower and middle class to gain wealth. I dont care who the president is, I dont wa t them making decisions that hurt the economy long term.

The "media" caused the Great Recession?

Actually the housing market has been cooling off a bit. I'm looking to buy in about a year and prices are dropping here in San Diego, which is huge consider how expensive it is the first place.

Those fuckers caused a worldwide economic meltdown....

They honestly believe that the economy was going great in 2008 and the media and Obama caused the meltdown. I've heard it 1000 times and yet it still amazes me every time I hear/read it.

Chose "non-answer for ranking control" because I don't know enough about the economy to say. It seems less easy to predict the more I learn about economics. The trade war could be trouble in the short term. That's the extent of my analcyst.
