And don't even get me started on how abysmal the UFC is at promoting their fighters. The mere fact that they can't make somebody like Tom Aspinall into a star is everything you need to know about how retardad they are at their job.

Don't understand how anyone can think it's good unless it's someone who is a relatively new fan who hasn't experienced what good actually is. The roster is bloated with hundreds of cans. Several weight classes have lost top talent - the ones who remain aren't bad, of course, it's just that they aren't anywhere near the top talent of yesteryear. Matchmaking is a joke. Many events are soulless APEX events. Europe events start in the middle of the night local time and are filled with trash fighters. Too many events that literally have 0-1 decent fights. Too many Instagram/Twitter divas that become keyboard warriors instead of fighting in the cage.

can i ask a personal question?

When did you start watching mma? because you do sound like me when i first started watching

Early 2000's -- I was training as well as doing official work, so I would take notice of the MMA.

Before that -- it was Boxing, Football, and Hockey.

However, I was not a big fan of TUF when that came on because of the theatrical Jock stupidity. That's why I currently watch DWCS and still skip anything TUF related. But, as long as TUF keeps feeding the fighter pipeline, I'm good.

Around 2010 I left all the ball sports -- and followed NASCAR, Hockey, and MMA.

Now I only follow MMA and I do enjoy watching and following fights even with the UFC quality spread from Epic to Unwatchable -- but I don't let it grip my life beyond the Sherdog Experience.

Sherdog! Sherdog! Sherdog! <lol>

Some of the production choices are baffling. The music played during ESPN broadcasts is so cheesey and annoying. And recently they've decided to start playing shitty pop punk songs after fights...who thought that was a good idea?

The sherdog UFC forum says everything. 10 years ago you would get four full pages of new threads regarding the last fights. Lately there's two or three new threads if you're lucky regarding the last event

Not crazy about some of the production choices or the pay structure, but overall I am still a huge UFC fan.
I’m with ya. It’s not even so much about the promotion itself, it’s the sport. I don’t understand what everyone is so unhappy about. Where exactly are the better fights happening? Please enlighten me, I beckon rhetorically, as I know it can not be done.

Like what is everyone expecting should be happening? A weapons division?

I think the roundtree fight is ridiculous and Dana white is part of a whole klan of business liars that are super annoying and without any sense of personal accountability, but the sport is the sport and it gets better everyday.

Unlike most sherdoggers, I actually like mma

The more the merrier. I don't cry about too many fights
Not just that… but some of these prelim fighters would beat the dogshit out of UFC champions of only just 10 years ago.

Add in 165 pound and change 170 to 175, get rid of one of the women’s weight divisions and it will be way better.

Add in 165 pound and change 170 to 175
100% agree
, get rid of one of the women’s weight divisions and it will be way better.
Women's 145 could be ok if they poached literally all of the talent in the world, but if they aren't going to do that there's not much point in keeping it.

UFC is watered down now with how frequent the events are. I miss the old days when I actually got excited for a fight card but now I could care less about majority of the events.

Coasting off of past success.

As I have said many many times they have sucked at promoting new "stars" for a good 8 years or so.

Dana needs to go. He has become unbearable.

Commentary is horrendous.

The company is making money, so they act as though that justifies continuing to make obvious mistakes and doing a variety of things in attrocious fashion.

Die hard fight fans will continue watching fights between good fighters. The UFC will always have that but evaluating overall from sherdog if the product is going downhill is nonsense. Being as 90% of the diehards here will go to the grave diehards regardless and complaining regardless. The ones that wont probably got tired of mma altogether

These numbers are not flattering and tell a pretty telling story.

I find very few of the current champions compelling: O'Malley, Poatan, and Islam. Am excited for Shavkat and Khamzat, Merab and Umar at BW, as far as contenders go...

And that's pretty much it right now. I've lost interest to the point I skip more cards than I watch now.

Would love a poll if a mod would like to add. Question is simple, how do you feel about the current product? Is it better, worse, or the same since you started watching? Here’s some options:

-It’s better than ever.

-It’s as good as it’s ever been.

-It’s good but it’s been better.

-It’s ok, it’s been better and worse.

-It’s subpar but it’s been worse.

-It’s the worst it’s ever been.
Some people will shill for the UFC and be contrarians but not to recognise that it was better between 2010-2020 exposes them as mere consumers.
