How do you feel about the current UFC product?

Subpar shit, probably the worst I've seen since the dark days of the 90s & early 2000s. There's maybe a couple decent fights per card and despite all the talent on the roster these days the matchmakers keep giving us shit fights that no one wants to watch such as Pennington vs. Holm rematch and the upcoming Ribas vs. Dern rematch. If it weren't for the Sherdog PBP's I'd probably watch like 5-6 cards a year tops.

It's obviously not dying, but I feel like they need some new stars to rise up. Especially with Conor most likely never fighting again. Jones flirting with retirement and Izzy possibly being on a slight decline.

I feel like a casual these days tho. And it's not like I'm not entirely familiar with the current roster, but I just don't feel as invested in the match-ups as I once did, let's say, 6 - 8 years ago.

Would love a poll if a mod would like to add. Question is simple, how do you feel about the current product? Is it better, worse, or the same since you started watching? Here’s some options:

-It’s better than ever.

-It’s as good as it’s ever been.

-It’s good but it’s been better.

-It’s ok, it’s been better and worse.

-It’s subpar but it’s been worse.

-It’s the worst it’s ever been.

Between it's ok/subpar

Just a very unremarkable, generic product right now. Everything feels sterile

One of the biggest threats to the UFC is the influx of the Russian fighters. They are unmarketable outside of Russia and Russians do not buy PPV. Fans, outside of Russia, will quickly lose interest in Russian vs. Russian fights.

The UFC needs English speaking fighters of N. America/ S. America / European descent to continue to grow. They market these guys, ie. Conor, Ronda, Jon Jones, GSP, Max, Poirier, DC, Strickland, Charles, O'Malley.....and people buy PPV.

When it gets to the point where these guys are fighting each other for titles, the UFC is dead:

I hate to say it but I think it's not just the Russian fighters, I think it's the influx of foreign fighters in general

It’s what I’d expect from a company that made their billions selling hot dog branders on spike tv

I enjoy watching the UFC Product.

I rarely miss the Fights -- especially PPV's or DWCS. As an Interested Fan -- I can enjoy and learn something about the various fighters even when the Fights aren't rocking.

If I was a Dis-interested Fan that just wants to see Highlights, gamble (not professionally), or just needs a time waster when they're drinking with friends -- then I would have different expectations.

I'd vote for "it's the worst it's ever been". The underpaid fighters fight their asses off to make fights enjoyable, which masks the effect of the UFC's awful decisions, but it's pretty hard to argue that decisions outside the cage have reached a new level of shittiness.

it’s in a serious decline, like the rest of the world.

there are many reasons, but above all is the fact that mma is not new anymore. for viewers, there’s not much we haven’t already seen, so getting our attention is harder. for fighters, the playbook for mma is pretty well established, so performances are much more perfunctory than they were before. there are not enough fight geniuses to carry the industry, so ufc has leaned into “stars,” and pandering to regional markets. people get tired of this, and it hurts the legitimacy of the sport.

sadly, i don’t think there’s much ufc can do. the company keeps growing, so they’re going to keep doing what they’re doing. you might get tired and stop watching, but the next generation of kids will replace your viewership.

The meta is stale. It used to be men fighting now its spamming calf kicks and holding legs. Also too many bums.

In the UFC Store, I don't like the Venum Fight Kit. I'm not a fan of the UFC Timex, the UFC t-shirt, the UFC onesie for infants, the hot dog brander, the UFC training gear, the UFC Topps trading cards, the UFC Project Cock shoes, or the UFC replica championship belts.

At ufccollectibles dot com, I don't like the belts, gloves, shorts, canvas, signed apparel, signed photos, or corner stools. If they start offering action figures, I would buy the one of Izzy attempting to sodomize Costa in the ring, and the one of Izzy giving his dog a handjob, and the one of Izzy masturbating to cartoons, and the one of Izzy calling the champ a :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: on global TV.

Wow. I just realized that I don't like any of the UFC products except the Izzy action figures that they don't make.

I better go back and read this thread to see if I am the only one.

Obviously, fighter pay leaves a lot to be desired.

From a fight stand point, I'd say it's as good as it's ever been. You get a wide array of fights from technical chess matches to rock em sock em robots. There are so many blended styles now that are successful. Like Dominick Cruz says, "fighting looks different for everyone" and it's fun to watch.

Not to mention you have a guy starching people and then bumming squares off reporters at the post fight press conference.

It’s ok, it’s been better and worse. I think some of it is out of UFC's hands with aging stars retiring or not fighting frequently. I do think UFC has cut corners to milk ESPN deal by watering down their product. However we're really in a period of transition to a new era. I think it's going to take a few years to really develop into much better.

The worst I ever seen but I'm a Gen Z fan whos idea of a OG fighter is Jon Jones.

I wish on the event itself they would cut down all the inbetween bullshit. It should be fight, 10 minute turnaround, fight etc but it's just constant with the bollocks talking head sections that no one actually watches.

It could definitely be better. The things I am most annoyed about are matchmaking, unnecessary huge roster size, not signing the best talent at times and the fact that they make an huge spectacle out of dumb shit instead of doing something amazing like PRIDE.

Like why do you have a sidehustle braindead Powerslap thing, but having custom Ring walks is seen as too Prowrestling like and unprofessional. Like bro some of the biggest stars in your org are literal criminals, how would like some fireworks or nice ramp be unprofessional compared to that.
