The weight cut, all the interviews, the press conferences, the weigh-ins and of course the fight itself. A lot of stuff happens on fight week.

Do they take sleeping pills or something?

I'd be stressed the fk out. Having to go to a press conference, cutting weight and going to sleep famished and dehydrated just to weigh-in the next morning.

Not to mention the day before the fight when you know you're going to be out there and have to perform in front of millions..

Kind of crazy when you think about it. You definitely have to be mentally tough to block all that stuff out.

Been too much of a pussy for fights (one day)

But for my first two submission grappling tournaments, i couldnt sleep. Was so stressed about making weight and how id perform.

By like the fourth tournament it didnt bother me as much

By the UFC level i imagine most arent too bothered by it all, until they get to like main event or championship fights in which case some may get the jitters again

They lay down, possibly toss and turn, and close their eyes.

They get one of their training partners to uppercut them right on the button. Puts them to sleep immediately and also warms up their chin for the fight

We don’t. I don’t sleep the entire week of the fight and then when it’s over I sleep for two days straight followed by one awake day, and then sleep another two days until I’m caught up.

Personally I get baked, fap, couple of drinky poo's, melatonin tablets and valium does the trick

I see AJ in this thread. He can answer it better than us.

Cmon, you certainly must get a few hours of sleep here and there.

1 entire week with 0 hours of sleep is pratically impossible.

I'm sure fighters like most human beings in pressure situations all adapt differently...

Some probably stay awake and have a difficult time falling asleep, while others probably pass out with the quickness due to being tired from training/media etc...

Sleep is part mental but it's also physiological as well.

They're probably to shook to sleep

I think he means barley any good sleep

I'd get way too anxious... fuck that
Have enough trouble sleeping

Generally you sleep better when you work out and are healthy. Most fighters are also probably exhausted and tired enough to be able to just fall asleep, since many prob get up as early as 5 or 6 to start their day.
