News Michael Morales no longer undefeated. Fight record updated

They are exhibition fights from a reality show... but we ( Tapology ) don't consider them to be , like TUF... even though no other site is changing his official record...

Sounds like some bush league stuff to me.

What makes them an exhibition? I know the ufc has to get the commission to sanction the tuf fights as exhibitions so the results don’t end up leaking before the show airs. Did this org do the same?

Final proof.
Tapology has gone back and made him undefeated again, citing exhibitions.
This would have also made an interesting conundrum

makes sense, I was going to say the rounds have nothing to do with it as tons of fights with only two rounds are considered pro fights on fighters records, an easy example of that is Ngannou’s first loss to Zoumana Cisse in a two rounder.

Most of PRIDE's fights were two rounds as well, but they were still 15 minutes total at least, might be total time.

France I don't think even allowed 3 round fights at the time.

I think anything under 15 is an exhibition, anything with protective gear is amateur, and a pro bout has to be sanctioned by a commissioning body, but of course this is the issue with a global sport with a bajillion leagues.

This dug up Morales fight being from a reality show should have clued them in from the start to have it stay an exhibition.

The more troublesome thing here is that a guy who supposedly grew up doing judo and wrestling got subbed fast and easily by an absolute can. I know Morales has improved, but his grappling g hasn't really been tested in years and a lot of fans just say he grew up grappling" as if that means something. It didn't mean anything against that can

From my understanding rounds and amount of time has nothing to do with it, the only way for a fight to be an exhibition is for the commission to sign off on it.

But I prefer my information to be accurate. I honestly didn't realize how much work, research goes into Fight Finder until I became a Mod and got to see behind the scenes. Verification is taken very seriously and the team goes to great lengths to make sure they get it right.
Gotta say i dont really care about this shit unless its like that one dude that completely faked wins to get into the ufc. But its nice to know someone is legit doing the work looking into it.

Reminds me of the Ukrainian guy that got in the UFC who was supposedly like 25-7 got smashed by Alonzo Menefield and then they found out he had actually changed his name and had like a lot of losses and less win and he got cut. And was actually like 17-14 🤣

This is exactly what I took away from this as well. Now I'm wondering what would've happened if Sean Brady had taken him down

Sherdog fight finder isn’t always accurate. Just a quick example, a regional fighter I know is listed as 1-0 on it but he actually lost the fight by split decision.

Shit happens tbh, Usman got choked out by a middling regional fighter before he even got on TUF. Morales had all of 1 fight under his belt (exhibition or otherwise) when he got in there with Centeno and shat the bed.
