it depends on which conquest we're talking about. the conquest of the aztec had next to nothing to do with guns. ive already explained that story. cortes fled long enough for his germs to kill most everyone. they also took advantage of neighboring native groups hatred for the aztec, and usually had more of their fighters than spaniard fighters.

the inca were defeated in large part because they underestimated the spaniards, and invited them right up to atahualpa, where he was then kidnapped. guns helped to some degree with this, but not nearly as much as spanish steel and basically by being allowed right up to their leader.

the disease spread faster in north america, than the colonizers. so it 110% had more to do with germs there.
