How did you guys discover Sherdog Forum?

When Crocop got HKKO’d, I had to talk to someone about it, and I reached a breaking point of having no actual people around me who understood the epic significance of that in my niche human cockfighting sport. My join date is literally that night.

Then why does your acccount say 2014?

Well i didn't post for a long time. Then made an account in 2008 I think. Then got drunk and talked shit about GSP and got banned in like 2012. Didn't make another account until I moved because whatever mod banned me must have been REALLY pissed because he would just ban any new account I made. I don't even remember what I said lol.

Which ever card had Hughes vs Trigg 1 and Pierre stomping Mayhem. Sherdog was in the program I had bought

I found Bullshido first, but a poster there mentioned Sherdog so I can for a look. Idk how long ago that was, but it’s been a minute.

Same thing. Also the sherdog highlight videos of fighter on YouTube. I started with news section and slowly gravitated to the forums because the posters where so funny back then. Now I hardly ever visit the news section.

I got linked here to Crum Bum's "I got married last weekend" thread that almost broke the internet. It's the reason threads are limited to 1000 posts. He found the Photobucket account of a couple that got married. A small skinny guy and a very large woman named Candy with a very large forehead and trolled like it was his wedding. He screwed it up early on but it was very funny and was linked to on many sites. The bride's maids were all huge too. Eventually the couple found out and deleted their account so the pictures were all gone. The thread had over 8 million views.

the gif thread in 2006 brought me here

Googling fights, fighters, and news always seemed to lead to sherdog one way or another.

Discovered the forum in about ‘08. One day someone mentioned you could view 30 posts per page if you had an account. WTF? I’d been viewing 10 posts per page this whole fucking time?!

So I made an account. Now I’m living that 50-posts/page lifestyle.

I was looking for preorder/discount codes for Strikeforce Fedor-Rogers tickets.

Google machine came up with Sherdog.

In 2007 via the S&P forum. Those were the good days.

Sherdog highlight video watermark.

Probably Peter Aerts.

I discovered it in 2008 when I became a very very casual fan of MMA. I stuck around the forum because this place does feel like a community and social without going off the deep end.

Around 2006-2007. Every time I Googled anything MMA, Sherdog always popped up at the top. I didn’t join right away because I wasn’t used to the way people talk to each other online and didn’t really want anything from the site except for news. Eventually I gave into wanting to conversate about the fights.

Pretty sure through the Fightfinder after I Googled a fighter, was either late 2008 or early 2009, then lurked for a fair while before making an account.

Had only been watching since mid-to-late 2007, anyway. UFC 79 was the first current one I saw, when it happened.

I kept hearing about it on other mma-sites, always referenced with fearful, bated breath.
An mma-journalist at mma-fighting who's podcasts i used to listen to back in the day, always went out of his way to diss Sherdog forums, like it was full of gangsters, punks, pirates and lunatics. That, + the good folks at bloody elbow that always talked about how Sherdog was just the dregs of society, literally 'the worst'. Bloody elbow being what it is (or was, haven't read it in years) i figured Sherdog could very well be the best. Turns out it was (is). Have been lurking for 5+ years before becoming a member recently.

I still prefer to read mma-articles and news elsewhere, but the heavies here is the best place for open, non-pc mma discussion.

My name is Anung Un Rama and I’m a Sherdog junkie.

I first did Sherdog while doing research on forums for a company I started. Stuck around for the Shogun vs Machida 1 hype.

I was a fan of mma for many years before discovering Sherdog.

Watching fights on youtube, and searching for more significants ones to seek out, i looked up fighters records.

Sherdog was the top choice on google.

I found it was a discussion board of mma, and so much more:

Hence, a long standing love affair began

The fighter finder, way back in the day.

I have been visiting since 2008 I thought this is a serious forum I thought this is a JiuJitsu forum because of the belt system when I got a different Job in 2011 I started lurking more and realized this forum is a total nut case dip in douchbag juice I signed up!
