I discovered it in 2008 when I became a very very casual fan of MMA. I stuck around the forum because this place does feel like a community and social without going off the deep end.
I was doing the TS's dad. and after we did our deed, he said, "hold on, I need to log on to Sherdog and check out what the other regulars are doing in Gayberry"
I belonged to mmaforum.com for about 12 years. Every year more and more posters would disappear until it was the same 15 posters every day. I haven't been back once since I joined Sherdog, that other forum sucks balls compared with sherbro's.
I came from the UFC official Spartkart forums after I got banned, I remember them guys hated this place and would stage troll jobs here and then laugh about it on there, pretty corny stuff.
Was quite a prominent poster on there actually but this forum is ten times the size of any other so I liked the traffic and stayed.
I saw pride. I just had to learn all I could pre-youtube highlight days. This was back in 03, made an account a couple of years later, been a mod for a couple of years until...
To be honest, I can't even remember. I know I lurked here for about a year before I joined. I think it was the first fight between Penn and St. Pierre that prompted me to sign up.
Someone was printing off sherdog fighter records and showing them around which was how i found out about the website, but i didn't sign up until many years later.
Pride was still around when i first started visiting sherdog.
