How Did You Come Up With Your Pets name?

We got a GSP a couple of years ago, and the kids named him Duke. I think they were watching the latest Toy Story and were having fun with Duke Kaboom's name at the time.

Previously, had a Boston Terrier and named it Bolo after Bolo Yeung's character.

Had a Boston Terrier prior to that and my dad named him Edgar after Hoover hah

My tuxedo cat was named by my kids. Oreo. Black and white. My Siamese when he was a kitten was so fluffy and he ran under the bed first day home and I said he looks like a little dust bunny under there. So his name is dusty bunny. Or dusty, or dust, or most of the time I just call him bunny or buns

Rua - Irish for Red Haired or Red. Red Setter.

Lennon/Lenin - Miniature Schnauzer. Adopted. Not sure if the previous owner meant for a political reference or musical reference.

Missed opportunity to name the GSP after GSP

My youngest nephew named the cats. He was 6 years I believe at the time and a huge fan of Tom and Gerri. Well, we originally named them Tom and Jerry till discovering Jerry was a girl.

The last two pets, my cat and my daughter's dog, here's how we came up with the name that was chosen. Basically googled something like "good names for a cat" "good names for a golden retriever".

Read through the list and picked out like 8-10 names we liked and then we spent a few days thinking about it. Then we chose the one that seemed most appropriate.

Gunner Rocket, before we even saw them at the shelter. Gunner because we're Arsenal and Rocket because we love the raccoon. Just happened that Rocket has the raccoon colours.

Itsy and Bitsy because I was young and Bit and Bot for similar reasons. Sooty because she was black and Tabs because she was a tabby.

3 i bought...

Marlon(beagle) - my son named him
Maggie(beagle) - i named her
Truffle(dachshund) - well, he is a dapple dachshund so it fits

others i have

Noodle(beagle) - my daughter was making noodles when he was born
Fudge(beagle) - her face was a mess and all dirty, she looked like a bit of fudge
Rolo(dachshund) - he was the last one left and in poor shape, they were trying to sell him on facebook
Sid (dachshund)- rescued dachshund, they were taking him to a dogs trust

had to rescue Noodle kind of, we sold him to someone who was a bit of an arse, so i was messaging him because we were all very sceptical of him(the person, not the dog), few messages later and i sent my boys to go and get him back, which is why we have the 2 puppies still(and will do forever), litter of 4 and we got to keep 2, the other 2 are with great homes :)

Wife and kids named all our pets. I just pay the bills. Had a couple dogs growing up that my siblings named. I don't think I've actually ever named a pet. Might have to change that at some point.
