How can Ronda beat Holly?

Not striking and just trying to bulldoze in is like turning the clock back to the very early UFCs. Its like saying strikers don't need to learn takedown defense and how to escape and reverse positions on the ground.

Of course.

I didn't mean to suggest that anyone should be one-dimensional.
It's just that they should concentrate on the skills to make it the fight that they're good at.

Of course Ronda should train standup, but her focus should be on working to get the clinch and take the fight to the ground. The way she set things up last time was too easy for Greg Jackson and Wink to work around.

There is a balance. You have to admit that guys like Kos and Maia went too far with their "new" skills at times, and lost fights because of it.
Kos didn't have to brawl with Paulo Thiago; he looked ok until he got caught. This was a winnable fight for Kos.
Maia didn't have to stand at distance throwing kicks at Marquardt. He may have lost this fight anyway, but he didn't have to catch the first counter that Nate threw.

She can't, now she's definitely going into bolivian, forever

There were so many holes in her gameplan its easy to see how things could be improved. People with no experience can look at that fight and see where things could be improved. So an experienced coaching team should be able to work on the gaps and improve things.

She just ran forward trying to brawl with someone who is a boxing champion. People say she couldn't do anything with the takedown, but I disagree her whole mindset going into the fight was wrong. She was invincible she could chase holly down and swing wildly and when that didn't work she just kept repeating the same thing. It wasn't her ability that lost her the fight it was her thinking that lost her the fight.

Head movement, lateral movement, counterstriking, not charging in, initiating the clinch better, improving takedowns outside the clinch these can all be worked on in training and improved upon.

I am sure RRR has the skillset to beat Holly, just like Holly had the skillset to beat her. Ronda needs to change up her camp, and now that she has lost I think she is going to be a better fighter for it.

I think the rematch is going to be a totally different fight, I am not saying Ronda will def win, I could see either winning but whatever the outcome I see it as a much more competitive fight.

good post from both IMO

yep Rousey should concentrate on HER OWN skills primarily and also find a way how to deal with Holm spacing and elusiveness(Holm =Machida like IMO).

She just needs to throw an overhand right while transitioning into a double leg, or duck under a punch to initiate the clinch. Planting her feet and swinging every time she gets close to Holly is not going to cut it.

A lot of ways. She was just out of shape. She'd kill Mayweather also. Mayweather cant fight. He's good at running with pillows. Ronda's coming back to KO holly or armbar or ko Mayweather behind bk. I'm not even joking!
