Not a Conor fan here but why is everyone having a hard time thinking how can CM beat Diaz in a rematch. You guys are not practical, you guys love all this theoretical bullshit...Just keep it simple guys. How can he beat him? Exactly how he clearly beat him in the first round maybe??? Why is this a mystery?

Now you will probably will claim that Conor can't fight like that for more rounds.. well that's what we saw that's true... Can he improve his Cardio by other means than just fighting at 15 pounds less? Maybe... We don't know. Did Diaz really was fighting easy (according to him) during that round? Maybe... You see how many "maybe".. Lets keep it simple. He beat him in the first round (so that strategy works) whatever the reasons I don't care he beat him in the first round and gassed. He already know how to fucking beat him... so why not just work in his Cardio?

Nate doesn't turn on until the second round. He's trying to find his reach in the first.

You're trying to tell me something TS...

This is essentially true. If Conor can stick with the striking he was winning in the first round and pace himself for a longer fight (not all shots at full power, minimize spinning shit) then he at least has a shot at it.

The problem will be that Nate has cardio for days, is heavier and has a big reach advantage. The height, size and reach advantages are things Conor is used to enjoying at FW. At WW he's just too small.

He beats him by cutting out the stupid wheel kicks, getting back to his front and back kicks, using that oblique kick and mixing it all with his hands. Also by not flooring the pedal and letting the fight evolve.

What he did is exactly what he said he was gonna do. Come out like a bat out of hell and he thinks the wheel kicks are a good choice.

Both were terrible decisions.

Cliffs for this monstrosity that TS put up:

Whatever Conor did in the first round (the round he won), he should keep doing that for the other 4 rounds. All he needs to do is improve his cardio.

Easier said than done TS. You are suggesting that Conor out-Diaz a Diaz. That's fucking stupid.

Jesus Christ, TS... this is your argument?

So his game plan to beat Nate, is to use the same game plan which cost him the fight... Okaiii

Work on cardio and low kicks. Also be more selective with his punches. In my expert opinion.

Conor landed 5 more significant punches than Diaz in the first round.. his "success" is greatly overblown by casuals not realizing that Diaz has so much scar tissue on his face that a wet tea towel could cut him open. Oh and don't forget...
