Hottest Prospects Right Now

He WAS a journeyman. Now he's improved a lot and is a contender. Your forgetting he had a winning record at MW also
He was pretty good at mw, but I haven't seen anything that says contender at either division. If he beats Volkan, I will be happy to admit I am wrong

Petr Yan, Islam Makhachev, Zabit Magomedsharipov, Israel Adesanya, Alexander Hernandez and others.

I want to say Gregor Gillespie, but sadly he doesn't seem interested in calling out anybody higher than him, and seems like he would just accept whoever the UFC will give him. Which is sad, he has a lot of potential.
Glad I am not alone in recognizing Yan's ability

I have been high on him since he was in ACB. He managed to win the belt there in 8 pro fights. ACB is pretty stacked with relatively unknown fighters, but highly skilled fighters regardless. I am on the Yan train. He isn't just hype.

It sucks that Andrade pulled out though.

It is Petr* and Makhachev* my bro! Edilov is interesting. He looked very solid in his debut (against Mihajlovic.. lol, who doesn't?), but he hasn't fought since then and I really doubt he will get a US visa, seeing as he is the baby sitter of Kadyrov's children... he should be in Taisumov territory; when no contenders will fly out to Europe/Asia to fight a guy with a winning streak, but is essentially a no-name.

Speaking of Taisumov... 5 fight ko streak... gets Desmond Green as an opponent. Sucks for Taisumov.

No top 5 fighter with any pull is fighting in Russia. You'd have to pay Russian and US taxes and fighters know that. That being said if the UFC is putting on 4 Russian shows a year like they said. Edilov and Taisumov can make a living fighting until their visas are hopefully sorted out.

Lol at Gallagher. Yes European bjj specialists with mediocre wrestling and striking always become stars. Bellator is trying to keep him away from McKee so fucking hard

I think Bellator are trying to be conservative with their stars especially since Pico lost on his debut but McKee definitely makes sense later this year or early 2019.

Pico getting High his next fight and McKee is fighting Macapa. IMO they just know Gallagher is fools gold.

I had no idea Andrade pulled out that was a great match up. I think he is ready to fight ranked opposition and ufc moscow is a great opportunity to get the name out

James Gallagher is a work in progress.
Was drunk back at the hotel after he beat Machida, was hanging out in the lobby and told him that before he knew it people would be chanting "theres only one James MCgallagher".

He looked at me like I was nuts and I told him, sorry I fucked your name up.

I guess it matters what our definition of contender is. If your defining it as top 5 than i agree he is not a contender yet. For me contender means top 10ish and within a couple fights of a title shot. I get what your saying though.

Gillespie
Zabit
Dominick Reyes
Yoel Romero as the next Randy Couture
