Media Hotboxing with Khabib is trending to be the Most viewed episode on the [new] Channel

Tyson was baked out of his mind. I know Mike’s a legend, but I found his behavior extremely disrespectful. If you invite a guest on your podcast the least you can do is be mentally present. Khabib is a busy man with almost unlimited obligations, he could’ve easily spent his time better than that, but you could tell how much respect he had for Mike.
I doubt Khabib took it that way It was more low class than anything I agree He over does it sometimes and doesn't make sense to the guest and most importantly the audience

Thank god for cejudo tho He really saves the show sometimes

I never heard the term before. Not every place is familiar with the term or people who don't smoke don't know what it is.

But I do agree it's a contradictory look going on a podcast with a know drug user and advocate for drugs. A guy who admitted to using cocaine in the past.

It's not too problematic but I can see the optics.

I assumed you aren't American. The other guy said he is. I'm Canadian and it's a very commonly used term here. For my generation anyway.

But, regardless, like I said, I have a hard time believing Khabib wouldn't look it up or ask about it. Although it's possible. It's a bit besides the point anyway for the reasons you mentioned as well as others.

I am. First generation. Never heard of it. I grew up in a pretty religious household and I don't smoke or drink or really hang with people that do so I was unfamiliar with it.

I agree. Is besides the point. Mike Tyson is a know drug user and even contemplated doing porn once for money.

Wait, so now Mike was his childhood hero? When he was "fornicating with so many women," committing assault, biting a guy's ear off, and going to prison for rape? You can't even keep your arguments straight.

I have known what hotboxing meant since I was about 6 years old. Don't play dumb. Or maybe you really are that dumb. Mike gets a pass for his past behavior precisely because he is that dumb. He's treated like he has the mentality of a child.

My criticism of Khabib is not irrational. Khabib pretends that he is more principled than he is. And his fans pretend the same thing. He is rather obviously an ordinary person who merely follows the cultural norms of his homeland. At least for the most part. But he is not a better or more principled person than anyone else.

You still haven’t explained how Khabib is being a hypocrite. Islam does not require perfection, in fact it specifically says that perfection is unattainable, therefore the point is to ask forgiveness and do your best. Being polite to a pot head, or looking up to a boxer (from an athletic standpoint) who doesn’t lead a moral life is not contradictory to Islamic principles. Your mistake here is that you clearly have no idea about the core beliefs in Islam, and without that you have no basis by which to judge whether Khabib is being a hypocrite. I’ll just give you an example of how clueless you are here, there is an old Islamic story in which one of the Prophet Muhammad’s favorite companions & followers was a raging alcoholic, and yet he was always treated kindly by the Prophet and kept his company. The moral being that his sinful lifestyle while wrong did not mean he was untouchable. So the fact that Khabib is socializing with Tyson and showing him respect is entirely within the tradition of Islam. According to traditional Sunni Islam (Khabib’s sect) the proper way to interact with people who are “sinful” and don’t hold Islamic beliefs is to treat them well and show by example, not to isolate or banish them. Those are Khabib’s principles. Before you accuse someone of being a hypocrite perhaps you should actually learn what their beliefs are.

Of course he was high, the show is called 'hotboxing'...

You said that "you could tell how much respect he had for Mike." Being nice and what you said are not the same thing. On top of that, he contributed to Tyson's podcast. And, whether Khabib knew what hotboxing means or not, he definitely would've known that Tyson is high for his podcasts. And that he is essentially promoting drug use on them. So Khabib, by getting Tyson's podcast more attention, helped promote drug use, despite being such a devout Muslim and criticizing Conor for promoting alcohol. I did actually already spell out how he is a hypocrite.

He looked high to me, but I’m no expert. I’ve seen him sober, he’s not like that.

he’s like that in every interview now. His brain is permanently toast. Weed or no weed, he’s lost his communication skills.

Firstly, you can respect someone whose lifestyle you disagree with. Either you have a child like view of the world as a black and white place without dualities and contradictions, or you’re being extremely disingenuous cause you hate Khabib and are finding a reason to shit on him. I think it’s the latter.

Secondly, you have no basis to assume that Khabib understood what Hotboxin meant or the premise of the show. He’s a busy man, not some basement dwelling sherbro. Ali and Henry Cejudo asked him to do the Mike Tyson podcast and he said yes. That’s literally all there is to it. You’re creating this elaborate scenario in your head where he’s deliberately promoting drug use, lmao, it’s absurd.

Let it go man, it’s not healthy to hate like this. I hereby diagnose you with Khabib derangement syndrome.

I can tell that you are big on "contradictions."

You have gone from saying that "you could tell how much respect he had for Mike" (as if Khabib idolized him for who he once was) to saying that Khabib is disregarding the former Mike and is only considering his present qualities. Then back to saying that Mike was Khabib's "childhood hero" and now you are saying that he is only respecting 'present Mike' because it is an Islamic virtue (despite that explanation not really meshing with the context that you initially used the word 'respect' in).

You have pedaled back and forth so much that I don't think you even understand your own feelings about the topic, let alone how to form a coherent argument about it. Someone like Khabib doesn't agree to go on a podcast without having some idea of what it's about. Especially with someone like Mike Tyson. He would've asked.

And I don't hate Khabib. Although I can tell that you are starting to get emotional. Is Khabib your hero the way Mike was apparently Khabib's? lol.

Khabib respects Mike Tyson for his sporting accomplishments, that’s literally all there is to it lol. The point about Islamic virtues is to highlight that consorting with someone who smokes pot isn’t in itself hypocritical, which was your original charge (talk about flip flopping). There’s nothing in Islam that says you can’t hang with a pothead. As for respecting Tyson, there are many types of respect, you seem to think respect denotes an endorsement of someone’s lifestyle choices. You’re really just being silly now. Ok, I’m done with this, it’s getting boring. Good night.
