Horror News & Discussion Redux

Tel Toro's eye is incredible and has the Spanish flair of absolute lush imagery often missing in American cinema. director I can count on in that visually it will be a treat whatever he puts out. Pacific Rim wasn't the greatest film at all but sure was eye candy. I like his older films the best. Haven't seen Crimson Peak I think it's called?
I need to see Crimson Peak. It was endorsed by Stephen King, and I take his words to heart lol, so it must be good.

I like films he has done all through his career. Cronos is a great "vampire" tale, and Pan's Labyrinth is a great fairytale for grownups. Pacific Rim, to me, was a good film, but kinda takes a hit for using so much CGI, which isn't exactly Del Toro's style. I know you can't really make that film without CG, but it is just strange to see so much CG used by a guy who came up on practical effects.

Seen that one and is that the one where this couple are on an island ran but a bunch of delinquent type kids? That was decent but not really scary/creepy but good in it's own way.
I liked it. It inspired a lot of different films/stories to come (Children of the Corn). Owes something to Lord of the Flies though.

Lol

Those dickheads don't even know how bad they are fucking up.

Lord of the Flies. Ah yes the human condition showing us in all our alpha glory when rules are no longer relevant. Children of the corn was fun with those weirdo kids with the biblical names and a very young pre-Terminator Linda Hamilton.

Ahhhh the memories.

I've had my eye on this box set for a while and it dropped to a price I couldn't resist yesterday so I pulled the trigger.

Amazon product ASIN B00L8QP082
Has 30 Universal films and tons of extra features. Even includes the Spanish Dracula which I've never seen. Can't wait to dig into all these classics again.
I've got that one.

The wife and I are both suckers for the classics.

Match made in hell.
When I realized i needed to get my hooks into her she showed up at the club I was bouncing at wearing knee high patent leather boots, fishnets with garter belts, a school-girl kilt that did a good impression of a belt and a black tank top that said "ink slut" on it. Long straight hair dyed black with a streak of crimson at the front. I knew then the stars had finally come into alignment.

Mine showed up at my job driving her ole Cutlass Supreme wearing nothing but a motorcycle jacket and nothing underneath. 21 years later the chemistry is still strong in this one. And we been to hell and back twice and lived to tell the tale.

Thug to future Mrs. Thug: Hey. You're pretty. Wanna hang out and watch Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman?

Future Mrs. Thug: Got any booze?

Thug throws up like Stan from South Park.

You guys sound like my kind of people.

It was a little more complicated. I was in a miserable long term relationship, and she was dating a cop that I knew. But not far off.
