Good call. I've done that, including the AVP's and predator filcks. First one I did was a shit load of Ed Wood movies back in the 90's, man they were terrible.

Agree I love when older greats get remastered. Just saw a remaster of some old Clash footage from a little seen film called "Rude Boy" just because there's some sensational Clash footage. Man what a great Xmas prezzie that was.

Criterion is top notch imho.

Speaking of horror /creepy shite this was one sick movie but good and really icky. A hard watch.

Seen that one too - the late under rated Brad Renfro. That film and this In a Glass Cage are the kind of films that you only see once if you can stomach them. IAGC is much european Looking though and the creep factor makes your skin crawl, but the cinematography is hypnotic. But back to Apt Pupil, the dynamics were intriguing and yes a bit sick but seeing Gandalf have the tables turned on him by his "student" is amusing.

Cinematically IAGC one is surprising well made, I saw it in a theatre in SF because actress Marisa Paredes is also in it. She is an interesting actress Spanish director Pedro Almodovar uses her a lot in his movies. She's in this film. It's unforgettable but can't say I'd recommend due to the subject matter *SPOILER* but good to see the perp get what he deserves. Especially in the manner in which it's inflicted.

Spanish, Korean and French make some memorable horror films. Seen G Del Toro's the Devil's Backbone? That's pretty good. Any recommendations that may have escaped my radar?

Who Can Kill A Child? is pretty good. Tesis is probably my favorite Spanish horror. Kinda like a Hitchcock film in a way.

Grew up watching most of the old monsters, old time Bela Lugosi is still a nice creepster but then you can't ever forget Nosferatu. Something about Nosferatu reminds me of one of my favorite fighters Joanna Jedrzejczyk?!?!?

Always loved Frankenstein always such a misunderstood fella. Looking for love . . . .

Tel Toro's eye is incredible and has the Spanish flair of absolute lush imagery often missing in American cinema. He's a director I can count on in that visually it will be a treat whatever he puts out. Pacific Rim wasn't the greatest film at all but sure was eye candy. I like his older films the best. Haven't seen Crimson Peak I think it's called?

Seen that one and is that the one where this couple are on an island ran but a bunch of delinquent type kids? That was decent but not really scary/creepy but good in it's own way.
