Horror News & Discussion Redux

Cronenberg is the shit

Dead Ringers is overshadowed in his body of work, but definitely worth checking out. The only thing creepier than Jeremy Irons is another Jeremy Irons
Saw it and I agree Dead Ringers and majority (not all) of Cronenberg's work is worthy of a gander.

An old time fave:

Anyone seen A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night? Thinking about watching that movie. Has pretty high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

Spring (2014) is pretty good as well. Was classified as a horror movie, but wasn't scary. More drama. But IMO it was pretty good overall.

Excellent yet different sort of vampire movie. One over looked film and a fave of mine from this past year. To be such a distinctive film regarding the vampire genre - that's a real talent to attain. I recommend it.

Sounds good! I´ll check it out for sure!

I am still really high on AGWHAAN. Probably my favorite film I have seen this year. Watched it 12 times in a row or some shit after I first saw it. Comparable to Let The Right One In, imo.

Just watched the Fearless Vampire Killers by Polanski, the cinematography is phenomenal, the story not so much, the acting is not quite good, all in all a not so succesful comedy/horror mashup. On the upside you get to see the beauty that is Sharon Tate.

Just to drop this here, watched The Hunger Games last movie at the cinema with my girlfriend (what things a man must endure to make his girl happy), and was pleasently surprised at the horrific portrayal of the Mutts (a true horror moment in this franchise). She was jumping out of her seat and was completely shocked and horrified, was nice seeing a bit of horror elements in there.

I wanna see Krampus today on Xmas.
I saw it. The movie doesnt know what it is. Christmas? Horror? Comedy? I sure as hell didnt know and neither did the film makers. Worth a rent.

On a positive note or two, the beginning credits does a slow motion reality check on black Friday shoppers. Its the best part of the movie.
Beyond that, the creatures were cool looking.

I did and didn't like Cloverfield where the monster ate all the annoying yuppie young'uns. And didn't get to see Krampus yesterday. May wait a bit on that one.
This clip is a SPOILER:

Love this gem from the 80's we used to get high and watch it a few times in the theatre. The Hunger:

Neverd of it - any good and is it scary stuff? Glad you liked AGWHAAN, really visually stunning and sticks with ya.
The show was made by the same people who made the film. Bowie even hosted it for a couple of seasons. Anthology horror that leaned to the erotic side. Was on Showtime, kinda like the other Outer Limits.

AGWHAAN is a film for which I've been singing praises for a while now. As far as I know, no one ever watched it based on my recommendation.

I like the vampire genre begining with nosferatu. Anyone remember another personal fave called The Addiction with hot Annabella Sciorra & indie fave Lily Taylor? Another B&W doozy.

I started watching Z Nation on Netflix and am liking it so far. I've only watched about half of season 1 but I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Has some good comedy and plenty of blood and guts.
