PlayStation Horizon Zero Dawn...7 years later

I liked the story even though it had only 1 adequate male for the whole plot. And I liked the world, with all the robo dinosaurs and interesting stories put here and there.
I did not love the gameplay as it got a tad repetitive not in a good way, but it was ok.
Havent played Forbidden West yet, but I will.
Yea I do think the combat gets a bit stale. They improved it in 2.

This was my fav ps4 game ever … I need to play the second one … but yeah the story, the gameplay, the world, I loved it all

so, the first thing to annoy me about this game is the fact that the missions are so far apart which kind of force you to fast travel unless you want to spend an hour getting from one side of the map to the other

its not a biggie because i have fast travels, it may be a deal breaker when i have no fast travel tokens left though

Fast travel tokens? I don't remember that being a thing in this game. Oh wait now I do remember having to craft something. I think they are pretty easy to get but I do wish they would have never done it. I wonder if it's removed in the remaster I don't think 2 has it.

good shout, just noticed you can craft them, i've not really been paying much attention to some of the stuff in this game like potions and whatnot, i probably need to

Yea I don't think fast travel ever really becomes an issue as far as not having the materials. I also think you can buy the stuff you need. I would have remembered if my fast travel became limited because I was rushing through the game (for the story) and I get annoyed when fast travel is limited like that in a game.

yeah, i think i have used a few in the past hour or so and i dont see an option to purchase any from an online store or anything, i think i just need to loot a little bit more and take a bit of notice what i can sell/craft

Not an online store. Like when you get a to a city I think one of the merchants will sell a few packs to you and the items you need to craft more. I think what I did is every city I would just purchase all of that stuff right away and it's all I would spend my money on. If I remember correctly it's been a very long time since i played the game.

got it, i have about 1000 metal shards now so i probably need to look at things i need to buy when i hit the big towns

I’ve started it twice and got distracted by another game both times.

I think the remaster will be a great time to jump back in and give it a fair shot.
Same, game wasn't good enough to hold my attention.

If this is part 1 then I've been seeing this game in the PSN free games store. I've always wanted to play it but GB size is massive. It's the only reason why I haven't played it

It's available for pre-load on Steam now

still playing this and loving it, my one issue though is the pathfinding is dreadful, you follow the yellow marker the game tells you to take to get to the next section, and you find yourself at the bottom of a giant mountain you cant get up from there, then you have to backtrack for ages to find the correct way up

other than that the game is fantastic, its not easy though, so if you are new to it and are a bit rubbish at games, there is a fair bit of challenge in there on the default setting

Sooo I can pay $10 to upgrade to the remastered version on PC

I'll think about it....

I never got around to playing Forbidden West (+H:ZD dlc) , so I am contemplating picking the Zero Dawn remake on a Black Friday sale somewhere, to work my way through it and then H:FW, and then the inevitable third installment.
