In the clinch at least. Every time it went there she seemed to be able to force Cyborg to the cage with relative ease and get underhooks. It makes me think there is untapped potential there that Jackson Wink isn't utilizing. Because she had no idea what to do there, seemed like she was only doing it to stop the pressure.

SHe seemed stronger in the clinch for sure...cyborg seemed to punch Wayne harder and faster however. Holm footwork is what’s enabled her to survive in my opinion. She did far better than I anticipated

It also reveals a surprising hole in Cyborgs game.

If she had a grappling background, she could have won that fight. Holly is crazy strong, she took down Ronda from the clinch.

Holm has a thick physique for a woman herself. She did a good job getting under hooks, and Cyborg didn't really look too worried about getting out quickly since she was controlling the fight, and there was no chance that Holm would get any takedowns.

My respect for Cyborg seriously grew after last night. She showed great striking technique and patience. She looks so much better than she did just a couple of years ago.

And, big time props to Holm for hanging in there and displaying a lot of physical and mental strength. It was a truly entertaining fight.

Was Cyborg even resisting the clinch much? She barely fought for underhooks.

Maybe Cyborg decided not to waste energy fighting off the clinch.

Not sure but its a possibility.

Well it doesnt mean much. Its not like she was taking cyborg down or roughing her up ala couture. If that was the case Cris woulda found a way out im sure.....instead she would get a nice rest while holly was expending her energy. No harm done.

Now the striking was a whole other thing all together. Holly put together some nice combos, but would miss a lot or barely graze Cris whereas cris was definitely making holly cringe. She was landing hard.

She would get the body lock on Cyborg and just lock on as tight as she could to avoid getting into a thai clinch knee exchange with Cyborg. Taller fighter usually has the advantage against the cage because they can drop their weight more effectively on their opponent. I was expecting Cyborg to knee the shit out of her in the clinch but Holly was just holding onto that body lock the entire fight.

It will take some bioengineered woman using samples of Francis Ngannou, Brock Lesnar and Chuck Lidell genes to beat that fuckin robot.

Absolutely agree, however, while it may not have done much for Holly, a different fighter with better grappling could exploit that hole.

I honestly think Cyborg let Holm have most of the clinch position just so she wouldn't tire herself out for later.

Holm was no threat in the clinch at all. Cyborg didnt need to waste energy for someone legit just hugging her to break her striking pattern, which again, failed on Holm's part.

Is Holm strong af?? Of course. I think Cyborg didn't use any energy to clinch fight.

I don't necessarily think so. Cris seemed to be quite relaxed in that situation, just let Holly burn some energy. Holly did fuck all with that position as well, didn't throw knees, strikes, go for trips, try TD's, etc...seemed pointless in the scheme of things. Holly DID look strong though, and quite big...this nonsense about Holly being the smaller fighter, coming up, is pretty funny...Holm is easily a 45' as well. Cyborg had Holly figured out, which isn't easy in the striking dept. I was a bit surprised Cris didn't try to take Holm down, GNP her a bit, but I think she was just that comfortable/confident in her stand up.

That is what I saw as well. No doubt that Holly is very strong though.
