I have Holly in this fight as well.

Her style of boxing / striking matches up very well against Cyborg's slow, plodding, flat footed chute boxe style of striking.

If Cyborg mixes up her game and goes for takedowns, then It's harder to say but there's a high likelihood this fight takes place on the feet.



It's because she fights better moving backwards / as a counter fighter.

Cyborg's striking is grossly overrated and, much like Rhonda, she believes her own hype. She is in for a rude awakening and I fully expect her to attempt to panic-grapple. Holly will light her up for those attempts and finish her.

Yep you're right. But it does show that Cyborg can get caught when she goes forward. Girls would just stand there instead of moving around and countering. I think Holm is a bit faster and can get out the way.

I have no doubt now. This evinger girl took the fight on short notice, got fat as hell for it because she fights at 135, and cyborg couldn't even KO her until the third. This girl had NO STRIKING or defence, or really anything. Holly wins via outstriking cyborg for 5 rounds. UD. Ish! Ish! Ish!

What are the odds for this fight? I am at work and cannot look them up.

In any case, if they are largely in Cyborg's favor, which I presume they will be, Holly is an absolutely amazing bet. She is the best stylistic counter Cyborg. Cyborg will be gassed by the third round due to her tremendous weight cut and over commitment to every shot i.e Conor McNuggets (lol Tony Ferguson).

Remember, this isn't Strikeforce Cyborg fighting Gina Carano, this is USADA Cyborg fighting a legitimate striker who will pick her shots, stay on the outside, and in the later rounds pick her apart.

I will bump this thread when the upset happens, and it will look so easy that in retrospect it will not look like an upset.

Not that much of an upset. Cyborg is a can crusher.

First and foremost, I wasn't impressed with Cris Cyborg against Evinger. If she fights Holm the way she did with Evinger Cyborg will be playing right into Holly's game. Keeping in mind Holly Holm will be the first actual legit challenge ON PAPER since she beat Gina Carano when she was on the juice MANY MANY years ago

No doubt Cyborg is a destroyer, Unlike Ronda Rousey we know Cyborg can strike, BUT we also know Cyborg can be beaten. She has lost not to long ago to a boxer, a dutch kick boxer to be precise in 2014 and it was in Cris Cyborgs game of Muay Thai when it happened...So it isn't impossible like many may think for Holly to win.

Basically, If Cyborg cannot get ahold of Holm, if she recklessly chases her down like Ronda did not using any angles almost looking for that savage Diego Sanchez like exchange that Cyborg is known for, Holly wont be there. Holly has amazing footwork and she demonstrated that greatly against GDR and Rousey...Holly Holm can cut through angles like nobody else in WMMA that Cyborg has ever faced in MMA.

Styles make fights and Cyborg as mean and nasty as she is, beats her opponents down using brute overwhelming force. She makes her opponent break. She has the perfect fighting style for a counter striker as accurate as Holly to exploit. IF Holly Holm can stay behind her jab keep AWAY from that cage do not let Cyborg get ahold of her she most definitely can win this fight. Make her frustrated, drag her into the later rounds, touch her up enough to where she may make a few mistakes and put her away. I think Holm can put anybody away. The fact Holly is able to hide her kicks is something not many can do, she has her famous deadly high kick we all love to see her throw like the one she used to punt Rondas head int space....and Cyborg does tend to drop her hands quite a bit usually right before she decides to blitz and flurries.

You may not agree thats your opinion but I watched all Cyborgs fights and I really havent seen her fight anyone that high level before. Not as decorated or with the resume as Holly Holm.

I have gotten lucky in the only 2 WMMA fights I ever bet on. I bet Holly would beat Rousey and wasn't sure she would but I took the chance and I got lucky, she did it.
Then I bet on Rose Namajunas dethroning Joanna. That was simply because I do like Rose a lot, felt she really had the skills to do it, and Joanna...with her Ronda Rousey "pre-weigh-in" BOOGEYWOMAN antics finalized it for me. You can call it luck there too but I wont.

She may not but if anyone can I think she is it.

The glory chasers who support only those with as undefeated aura are incapable of breaking down the differing skills of fighters and coming up with a lucid opinion. That's why they just spout off things like "He/she is gonna smash him/her"...Why? "Because that's what they've done before"...

Cyborg is going to lose this fight. Holly is better than she is. Better technically, better mentally and better physically.
