Holly Holm has got to be the most unpredictable fighter in the UFC

It is impossible to tell who the hell she's going to beat.

I mean, there are some fighters that you know with absolute certainty are going to win certain fights. Like I doubt anyone expected Raquel Pennington to actually beat Amanda Nunes, but every Holly fight is anyone's game. Just think:

She barely scraped a victory against Raquel Pennington, and then went on to beat the crap out of the unbeatable World Champion Ronda Rousey. After beating Rousey, Holm gets owned by a girl who Rousey beat the crap out of twice (Miesha Tate) and would subsequently go on to get beaten by Pennington!

Then Holm gets her ass kicked twice in pure stand-up fights (which is supposedly Holm's forté). And now last fight, she owns a girl who outranks her in BJJ on the ground.

And I know not to do MMA math but Holly is one of those fighters that you never know when she is gonna show up or not, really strange.

I disagree man. She has never been dominated or outclassed in any of her losses. She only lost against GOAT-level fighters (Cyborg, Shevchenko) or because of controversy/randomness (GDR, Miesha), but the fights with Megan and Bethe clearly shows she is still able to dominate any fighters who is not top tier.

The Pennington fight I don't think is very relevant. It was her UFC debut, she still looked tentative in MMA, but has shown major improvements after that.

You should have a look at the stats against Cyborg, Holm was vastly outlanded (118 to 44 significant strikes) and got hit with all the hardest strikes of the fight. I have no clue how it wasn't scored 50-45 for Cyborg.

I think Holm's stand up is highly highly overrated. But she's deceptively strong in the grappling department and in the clinch.

I was surprised she matched up with Cyborg in terms of strength, most fighters get raggdolled
megan is probably stronger than cris and she man-handled her as well.

I didn't, so I guess I didn't know what to expect. However, I would imagine a giant with Gibbon-like limbs would know how to use her range to here advantage when striking.
She just took up mma like 5yrs ago

She seems more concerned with getting swole and learning flashy combos than learning basics like foot work and using a jab or teep to set up her offence.

Really? I can predict her next fight will not be on a PPV main card, and it will be boring.

BJJ isn't fully mma grappling and mmath doesn't work

That's not lost on me. However, when you consider that she was fighting a much bigger fighter and -especially - that it was pretty much the only competitive fight Cyborg had in MMA, I'd still say it was a good showing for Holly. Also Cyborg is GOAT in female MMA, don't forget that.

I feel like UFC is setting her up to fight Nunes who is avoiding Cyborg. And yes, it will probably be boring.

"Setting her up"? she is #1 contender at BW, that fight should have happened long ago already. It would have been a lot better than than all this nonsense at 145. I am actually quite pumped for that fight, and I don't think it would be boring at all.

Cyborg is stronger than Mee-gan. Gangly people usually aren't very strong.

Tate got the ultimate lucky championship win ever, 9/10 times Holly win over slutate; that 1/10 is what she got because of her corner’s great fighting IQ.

Derandamie almost knock out Holly after the bell, it was more similar to “Million Dollar Baby” movie than being legal. That definitely marked the fight; then Holly did what she could with being slightly knocked out.

Holly beat Bethe and Megan since the win over Ronda, and lost 4 times (2x at 135). How is she a top contender?

She should be fighting Cat Zigano or someone similarly ranked and Nunes should be fighting Cyborg.

With that huge win over "top contender" Bethe at BW? They could continue giving her title shots left and right, but she cant be the #1 contender with that fine streak she has recently 2-4 in her last 6, some of those at FW, but still a losing streak, another win at BW and she could get it, there is not much of a line there anyway and Nunes doesnt want to fight Cyborg anyway.

why would you think that? it's rare you find giants in the male divisions who are that coordinated, why would you think a shitshow like WMMA would have one?

A. Holly Holm was cruising towards a decision victory against Tate and then one of the best comebacks ever happened.

B. She very arguably won against De Randemie or however the fuck you spell her name. Add the point deduction that should've taken place for the two times Randemie hurt Holly after the bell and it's as clear as daylight.

C. Valentina is also champ material and was just better.

Styles make fights.

She didn't get owned by Tate she got finished with a clear decision win less than a round away.

I don’t know, I just know I’ll always love her for ridding us of the disease that was Ronda.

No matter what happens she's a legend for that KO! Never thought anything would surpass Hendo/Bisping but I was wrong.
