It is impossible to tell who the hell she's going to beat.

I mean, there are some fighters that you know with absolute certainty are going to win certain fights. Like I doubt anyone expected Raquel Pennington to actually beat Amanda Nunes, but every Holly fight is anyone's game. Just think:

She barely scraped a victory against Raquel Pennington, and then went on to beat the crap out of the unbeatable World Champion Ronda Rousey. After beating Rousey, Holm gets owned by a girl who Rousey beat the crap out of twice (Miesha Tate) and would subsequently go on to get beaten by Pennington!

Then Holm gets her ass kicked twice in pure stand-up fights (which is supposedly Holm's forté). And now last fight, she owns a girl who outranks her in BJJ on the ground.

And I know not to do MMA math but Holly is one of those fighters that you never know when she is gonna show up or not, really strange.

I don’t know, I just know I’ll always love her for ridding us of the disease that was Ronda.

I think Holm's stand up is highly highly overrated. But she's deceptively strong in the grappling department and in the clinch.

I was surprised she matched up with Cyborg in terms of strength, most fighters get raggdolled

It was pretty predictable that she’d beat Anderson, if you had ever watched one of Anderson’s fights before.

I think you're right. Her striking looked good because Ronda fights like a raging bull, against a decent striker Holly looks like a fool screaming "ish! ish! ish!"

But you think her ground game is strong? It seems a bit weak, in fact she's usually scared to take the fight to the ground.

Amen brother!

I didn't, so I guess I didn't know what to expect. However, I would imagine a giant with Gibbon-like limbs would know how to use her range to here advantage when striking.

She was winning the Tate fight. Meisha just finally got it to the ground and was able to finish. Yes, striking is Holly's strongest area, but Scevchenko and GDR are also decorated strikers. Obviously losing to the best female fighter in the world in Cyborg, is no big surprise. The Ronda fight was a perfectly executed gameplan for an ideal stylistic matchup. Holm is a good fighter, but when she can't outsmart her opponent and finds herself fighting on their terms instead of her own, she runs into trouble.

I thought she was legit after the Ronda fight, and I was originally picking her to beat Cyborg (before the GDR fight), but it turns out she's the most boring fighter in the UFC.

I thought you meant fighting wise.

She throws the same 2 combinations.

ISH ISH

Think you're just largely underrating Pennington.

I think Pennington is a lot more skilled then folks give her credit for. She is tough as nails and can take a tremendous amount of punishment. That said, she is not a championship level fighter. Nunes put on a clinic against Raquel. One would not have expected Holly to struggle against Pennington like that if she expects to fight for the championship.

Put on a clinic against Raquel because she had a major leg injury six months prior and that first leg kick of the fight near enough re-injured her leg in the exact same place. Raquel fought that entire fight on one leg, hence why you saw her raising her leg and essentially hopping to avoid leg kicks at several points of the fight.

She'll be back, she might never beat Nunes, but she's for sure a top 3 Women's Bantamweight.

Oh, I didn't know about the prior leg injury. Not sure she'd have an answer for Nunes either way though.

Also, according to the rankings she's below Nunes, Holm, Pena, and Ketlen Viera. Although I'd argue she'd rank below De Randamie as well.
