Holloway knocked Aldo out 3 times

Jose Aldo will be back and beat Max in a rematch.

Aldo looked out for a second with the ground and pound, possible the raining punches snapped him back out of it. Justified stoppage Aldo was really hurt for a long time and just kept eating shots.
Protect the fighter from themselves.

Doesn't mean shit. We've seen plenty of fights where fighters have taken waaaaaay more damage than that and won the fight.

Landing a punch doesn't equate to a stoppage. Aldo was giving a thumbs up the referee. It was early. Max was gonna win no matter what imo but it was still a little early.

Fans are just conditioned to early stoppages now since the CTE concussion nonsense has everyone scared.

If you are certain Max would win anyway why did you want to see it go on? What is the point in your mind of letting Aldo take more damage when you just said you believe he would lose no matter what? Even his coach said it was a good stoppage. We need to see these guys live to have 20 or 30 fights over a career not have 2 or 3 before they fucking die like Roman gladiator days

I want to see legit stoppages. That's why.

I'm not in this stupid fucking pool of morons that baby fighters. You guys can cheer and admire bloody wars like Rory/Lawler and Choi/Cub but then PMS whenever someone gets stunned and takes some shots on the ground.

If you want to baby fighters and protect them then don't let them fight. It's a violent sport and nobody has died so quit your over dramatic bullshit. The sport had legit stoppages on a regular basis for years and years and nobody died and they are all still fighting long after.

You cant lay there getting punched in the head 500 times without defending yourself without the fight being stopped. Yes, Aldo threw a thumbs up a couple times while getting the shit beaten out of him, but thumbs up does no equal intelligently defending oneself.

Aldo was clearly out, abit a very short time, he was out. There is no specified time for a KO to be a KO. If you go out, even for a second, you are KOed.

Dude, Rory and Lawler is totally different than stoppage like Aldo and Halloway. Rory vs Lawler was competitive, with Rory fighting back and often winning exchanges right up until it was stopped. I just don't know what to tell you if you can't see the difference between that and someone taking 40 or 50 unanswered shots while they're too fucked up and rocked to even try and improve their position.

Wasn't even close to 500 times as most shots hit the arms and gloves.

Why are you ok with fighters taking 500 punches while standing but all of the sudden taking shots on the ground is too much? That's retarded.

What matters is the physical state of the defending fighter. If they are unconscious or dazed to the point of not being able to defend. That is a clear stoppage. Aldo was stunned yet recovering so not a legit stoppage.

We are seeing early stoppages happen so much now that they are training the uneducated fan into thinking that it's normal and it's nonsense.

It was a good stoppage. He was done, he gassed himself out trying to get out from bottom and just eating shots. Better to call the fight and have him fight another day.
 
Not too sure if he was out on the knockdown, but those shots on the ground def switched his brain off momentarily

If theyre moving and intelligently defending themselves, then that's the difference. We've seen many standing TKOs if people are not defending themselves.
