Holloway is going to beat Ilia senseless

It's not a crazy suggestion, but I personally see it going more like the 1st Volk fight and it's a 50/50 on if Ilia catches him and hurts him bad enough to finish him

Max already said he won’t engage him like that. He told the media and ilia that. Expect him to be on his bike kicking and jabbing and moving constantly.
 
A thing that we overlook is the time zone difference. I think Max showed up around 3 days ago? I don't know if it's enough to get acclimated. Topuria showed up around the same time but Spain and UAE is only 2 hour difference.
 
Max is the better striker on paper which is why I’m so confused by all these supposed Ilia supporters and people saying he’s getting KO’d.

Like we just had this argument with the Gaethje fight lol. And most of Max’s fights in his career. Power is a nuclear option cheat code sure, but you have to first land it. The better striker and often will just out strike the lesser more powerful striker.

I thought Max looked a bit washed at Zombie all things considered, but then looked incredible against Gaethje. Which I also thought he’d win as the more technical forward pushing fighter. I think it’s silly to say Ilia’s suddenly going to box his head off.

Especially as others have noted Ilia gets a bit frustrated when you come at him. All his talk of just pointing at the Octagon is just nonsense. Guy has never done that in his life meanwhile Max has done it across decades. I think he’ll probably get frustrated by Max’s pressure and just get even more wild, exactly like Gaethje did.

The fact that Topuria could eat a clean head kick from Herbert and still take him down pretty much proves his chin is iron.

Gaethje fought Max in the dumbest way possible, when he was fighting behind his jab in round 4 he was having success. But by then it was too late. Had he fought that way from the start he would have probably beaten Max.

Sir have you ever seen a Gaethje fight?

Literally every fighter who’s ever pressured him have panicked him and had success. Win lose or draw they all do well when they pressure him and put him on his back foot. Justin is bad at dealing with pressure no matter how many people try and call him some King of Violence. As Max so explicitly proved by KOing him in a final 10 second rock n sock ‘em.

It’s the dudes who try and play a long outside game with him that he tears apart when he’s given the space to implement his game. Justin is great at walking people into things, not reacting to things.

Justin didn’t fight stupid against Max. He just matched up extremely poorly and you saw the results of that. He had a power advantage and that was that, and we all saw it didn’t matter if he couldn’t land it.
 
Quite likely, anything can happen. I was just watching tv earlier and they were showing Topuria's fights, Topuria can crack but Jai Herbert tagged him A LOT, even Bryce looked like a competent striker against him soo.... Highly likely Holloway does to Topuria what he did to Kattar and Ortega but we will have to wait and see.
 
Bryce vs Topuria was competitive on the feet, let that sink in. Topuria can crack no doubt but I don't expect the strike totals to be even remotely close. 40-36 in significant strikes for the Bryce fight and 53-46 for total strikes..... Topuria's best chance is an early finish. Could be wrong tho, who knows.

Only a 20-year old Vitor Belfort can consistently win fights with that sort of a mad flurry rush at the beginning of every match.

Max showed against Gaethje he still has the ability to go 5 rounds like a machine. He may take Topuria in deep waters unless there's an early finish. We'll see.
 
This fight screams a decision to me. My prediction is the forum is going to think Max won the last 3 rounds but the win goes to Ilia.
 
If Gaethjie and Poirier couldn't put Max out please explain to me how Ilia does! No fucking way Ilia has more power than either of those 2.

It's not the power it's how ilia sets up the puncbes. What you run into while not paying attention.

- max is in ufc rankings

- blessed at 13-winstreak, 3rd pfp

I hope I'm wrong but I think Ilias footwork will be more effective and he mixes up his timing finishing Max with strikes or sub in 3
 
Yeah I think Blessed outclasses him to a UD points win, overcoming one or two rocky moments when he gets clipped.
