Act 3 is rather tiresome

edit. So Coral Towers is at minimum 3 gauntlets back to back before rest. I am close to my breaking point.

Doing the least fun minigames i've ever.

If only everything could be solved with poison tool spam.

Edit - Phew. At least it was worth it.

Coral Towers done. The actual boss took whole two attemtps to kill.

But I give up. Act 3 is just not fun. Karmelita looks like a good fight but naah. Would I have killed Nightmare King Grimm if it took almost 2 minutes to start a new attempt? Probably not and that what it is.

I really do not understand why they do this.

I rate Silksong at something like 7/10. Start was magical apart from currency grind but it turned really sour by act 3.

Flea caravan? I gave up.

Found a run back with a blind jump that has environmental hazards that do 4 damage.

Peak game design 👍

I retract what I said and agree with you that Bilewater area is dog shit.
I erred and still haven't found the map guy so i am always going in there blind.

Also agree that the Mist wasn't that horrible.
It was rather easy IMO. It's an area I am not even worried about if I need to travel through it.
Bilewater though... GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:🤬😤👿:mad:

Found a handy tool that makes Bilewater a bit more tolerable.

I'm at Cancer Tower now.

I'd really like to stop playing but feel like I have a duty to finish this after everything I've done so far. Like I owe it to the previous game or something.

Get this done. Uninstall for good and look forward to Ghost Of Yotei which hopefully won't have gank rooms full of input reading, double damage, flying enemies.

Almost done with Act 2 and I'm enjoying the game but I definitely have issues with it. I haven't found any particular boss difficult and have enjoyed most of the fights. The platforming and exploration have been fun and not too difficult. Certain run backs and challenge or arena rooms. There is one of them that is absolutely brutal I haven't been able to get passed. I might need different gear. I don't know the many secrets Pharloom holds because I've stayed away from everything online. Completely blind playthrough going on.

These would probably be my biggest gripes at the moment:

1. Fetch Quests: I hate them. It's 2025 and it's not a well known secret that most people hate them. What was the reasoning here? Force exploration? I didn't mind the quests to locate certain NPCs, but the hunting down of multiple things was tedious.

2. Currency: Why in the world is there bench / fast travel currency? I cannot imagine the reason for this outside of forced difficulty. This shifts currency from being a reward for exploration to a tax on it. It creates a risk of punishing the player for exploring too far or dying unexpectedly, forcing them into a "grind" just to be able to save their progress. In a Metroidvania, the most important rewards should come from overcoming challenges and discovering secrets, not from your ability to farm resources for basic functions.

3. Flying bugs!: There are far too many of these things in the game. And they love to fly backwards just out of range when you attack them in mid-air. They're all over the place. Team Cherry's excuse is probably "look at all of the crazy things we give you to defeat them!". It's still BS. Not a fan.

The platforming is a fun challenge. I found the double jup and that was really fun. I live the ring mechanic even though the half-second delay is annoying.

Overall, I'm not finding the game that difficult but I do get a bit annoyed with it and can see why others might not be a big fan. I'd say Aeterna is much more unforgiving but also feels more rewarding.

That's an issue I find with a lot of enemies in the game, not just flying ones. They've always got some cheap little back step after an attack, where the game forces you to wait them out. You can't be aggressive with the smallest of enemies, and it's annoying as shit.

Ya, now that I think about it there’s quite a few land based enemies that do that. I don’t mind jousting with a few of them but when they dash back and then there’s a flying enemy, it sucks.

Omg I finally found the double jump!!!

I’ve looked for this POS item for eons!!! That search was brutal and the area to get it was very brutal. My thumbs hurt really badly right now. Going to play a bit more tomorrow morning but then iam heading off to Montreal for 4-day vacation. I don’t play games when I vacay. It’ll give my fingers some solid rest time. Will be handling cards (poker) instead for the next few days. Can’t wait!

The original is a fave of mine, but not really digging this one. It feels they went full FromSoft(ala DS2) and made EVERYTHING annoying. The first one was a bit cryptic and whatnot, but this one’s design is lame. Still feel the need to beat it, but my heart isn’t in it like the OG. Kind of a shame for me, but if other’s like it, to each their own.

It might have been asked, but has anyone had issues with hornet suddenly not moving when changing directions while platforming or moving in different directions rapidly? I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been fighting or platforming and she will just stop moving for some reason. I have my finger on the d-pad still, pressing in one direction or another, and she will suddenly not move. Like the game forgets I am still pressing a certain direction. Not sure what’s happening, but it happens a good amount and infuriates me.

Doesn’t happen with other games when I’m using that same controller, but I suppose it could still be the issue. Just strange only this game is causing it
